Tie 1. Sportsmen’s Lodge – Bill opened this place in October of 2004. I was an early guest in January of 2005. Awesome choice for the newbie to the established vet. Great hotel with a great bar scene. Free morning coffee, fruits, etc. Only place to be for sporting events. Chica friendly of course and excellent staff. Bar food is good. Excellent rooms with comfortable beds and furnishing, some with jacuzzis. Some rooms in the older section and courtyard sections are much louder than others due to the expansion of the bar throughout the years. Many other quieter rooms in the Modern and Mansion wings. CRT discounts apply to rooms and the bar. Favorite Rooms. Leopardo, El Toro, Mono, Las Palmas, Amante, Vista Del Sol, Mirador. Experience Level, 20+ Stays

Tie 1. Hotel Amistad – Great choice for the more casual laid back monger tourist. As you will sometimes be mingling with locals eating and ecotourists traveling through. CRT discounts vary for cash. Great rooms some with jacuzzis, others with jacuzzis and saunas in several price ranges. Chica friendly. Quiet bar with good food. Free basic breakfast. Staff is excellent. Matt can get a little annoying when drinking, but not a deal breaker. Favorite Rooms 201, 202, 312, 311, 203, 210, 211. Experience Level, 25+ stays

Tie 3. Hotel Dunn Inn. I have only stayed in this establishment one time due to a last minute reservation on a holiday weekend. Recommended by a friend, I was happy with the hotel services. Room was nice, bed was comfortable, Staff was excellent and attentive to any needs. I especially like their special touch of calling the room when the chica departs to make sure all is good. I ate breakfast there which was good. I did not spend any time in the bar to rate their services. CRT discounts. Experience Level, 1 Stay

Tie 3. Hotel Mona Lisa (ex Clarion Amon Plaza)
This rating is based upon stays here in 2006 and 2007. (Some of the old timers here will remember Nixon). Staying in both a regular room and a junior suite. Rooms were comfortable, similar to a Holiday Inn in the USA. Room service was prompt, Staff was excellent, even allowing the novia to park her car in the garage overnight gratis. I hope when I check it out on my upcoming trip that it will be similar (with updated furniture of course). At the time of my stays the Casino and Bar were fairly non existent. I look forward to the grand opening reports after March 17th. I wish the new ownership group good luck. We can use another place other than Sportsmens and Del Rey for chicas to hang out. not sure of CRT discounts. Experience Level, 3 stays.


5. Hotel Little Havana (always to be fondly remember as Zona Blue.. where did you go Wanda )
Chicas on site. Very nice remodeled bar. Staff is very friendly. Some rooms are above average other below average and quite noisy due to the proximity to the bar area. Bed are fairly comfortable, Restaurant was closed due to an insect infestation just prior to my stay. CRT discounts for chicas and hotel

Now thats the voice of experiance, 50 + trips since 2005. Really can't go wrong with any of these choices (and they are all a few blocks from each other).

Hotel Castillo is also another viable option and its smack in the middle of all of these. I would put Castillo above Dunn Inn and would put HLH above both Castillo and Dunn but that would be splitting hairs. These are all hotels that are monger friendly, offer CRT VIP card discounts and want our business.

Nicely done El Silencioso, and I concur with your assessment. But I'd like to add another hotel to your list that nobody seems to mention anymore...

Top shelf hotel, great room service, great views, chica friendly, very reasonably priced and numerous locations throughout the greater San Jose metropolitan area!

El Silencioso -- good accurate review. Been going to CR since 1997. Was a Presidente fan till rule changes. IMHO I think you got it right. Jonesies review was basically a load of crap -- IMHO.

I agree w/ you 100% - FWIW, Morazon does this too - consistantly - in all my years of staying at the Presidente, for all their bull shit, rules, and concerns with guest safety etc, they never did

Oh...one other thing - I'm not going to defend *******, b/c he's a big boy and can speak for himself, but to be fair, from the get go he said his listings were only his opinion - on a personal note, it matters little to me how others rank hotels because I have my go to place and have had it for years ( and yes, realize its very helpful, especially for newer guys to have a list and resultant discussion - also helpful to mention the lesser known properties, so thank you both for doing so -

Hotel Delrey is the best.

Which other hotel has over 100 girls...none...only Delrey Hotel

If you want peace and quiet, this hotel is NOT for you...

People may stay at other hotels, but they always end up at the Delrey looking for a good time.

I have always stayed here at Delrey and always will...

Good for you! for me the del rey has no personality like many other places do down there.

Not all of the people. I am getting ready for my 10th trip to San Jose, and I've only pulled one chica from the Del Rey. That was during my last trip, it was late at night and I was leaving the next morning. Most of the chicas I have been with came from the SL. I usually walk through the Del Rey a few times each trip, but haven't seen anyone who looks better than the chicas I meet at the SL. I am happy there are more than one option for finding chicas in SJ, something for everyone!

I love the Del Rey. Not the hotel, but the Blue Marlin. I've stayed 30 or so times at La Amistad, love the place. Train has never bothered me. My hotel of choice prior to that was the Castillo (13/14 times). Great staff, but the hotel really needs some work, IMO. Stayed my first ever trip at the Morazan, it was not impressive. Stayed last September at HLH & it was awful. That's being polite.

btw, I think that anyone who is only meeting the "hardened, mercenary types" at HDR should probably try going at a different time of day. Say what you want about the Del Rey, I've met some chicas there who have given me great GFE experiences. You just need to be selective when interviewing them, or as I said above, try during the afternoon or morning...or even early evening before the mercenaries get there.
