Owner of this site has decided to block / censor competitors' url
If you know he blocked it, then why are you insisting on posting it ?

I think you posting this against the board rules is cause for you to be blocked, finally.

The admin of this site has kindly asked that others not advertise without becoming a sponsor and he certainly does not care for a copy cat site to come here offering their wares.

What an attempt at disgrace.

"Floridadonor" should finally be gone and this thread should be deleted.

Another post by same writer,on another board....excerpts on crt...3. The Sportsman's Lodge. This is a well run hotel, run by an honest man who cares for his guests. That alone should ensure prosperity in a growing community. They host all CRT events. Superbowl Party included. The party costs $55, and includes plenty of food and booz. At this price point, the event appeals to guys who intend to get their money's worth. So there will be no shortage of heavy-set guys drunk off their ass by the end of the party. Some of my best buddies are overweight alcoholics, but I digress. The point is, Bill's a good guy running a good hotel. The uneasy feeling he has over having 93 new hotel rooms in the same market comes from the fact that The Sportsman's Lodge has been the centerpiece of the CRT monopoly for years. Now that the monopoly has been broken, and the ground is shifting, a little nervousness is understandable.

I'll expand on this a little. Until recently, CRT has held a monopoly when it comes to single male tourism in Costa Rica. And the Sportsman's Lodge has been the centerpiece of that monopoly. Both enjoying mutual benefits from this type of relationship. Over the years, Tommy, the owner of CRT had been a part of the community and its success. A combination of economic problems in the US, and some unfortunate health problems have slowed Tommy's interest in Costa Rica altogether.

The problem with monopolies, is that when the guy in the captain's chair suffers, everyone suffers. Costa Rica hotels lost ground to destinations like Medellin, Dominican Republic, and even Tijuana because the party was over for Tommy. Bill, being the loyal guy he is, stood firm and protected the monopoly. Like a Rottweiler guarding an abandoned house, never realizing the owner moved away and left him there. The fact is, Tommy will never be a regular part of the CR community again. He's moved on, and has been trying to sell his site to anyone with the means to buy it, regardless how it plays out to the local businesses on the ground. He'll remain remotely engaged as long as CRT continues to provide enough revenue to justify involvement, or he sells the site.

I make this observation without judgement, I'm not sure that I wouldn't think the same way if I were Tommy, or Bill for that matter. While I get along with Tommy, and am friends with Bill, I also have friends in this community operating businesses that have suffered under the combination a tough recession and waning CRT interest. Honest men trying to make an honest living.

the dynamics have changed on the ground. of that there is no doubt. not sure how much the owner of this site can affect that. one thing thats constant about any business or life in general is change.

Opinions, we all got em. Wonder why I still have to book out 6 months to get a room @ the SL. It would have to be something major catastrophic for me not to stay at the SL. Can only say as many times as I have stayed it keeps getting better. Bill, staff and all there insure everything is right. And, yeah I am a picky guest.
Don't really see CRT losing ground, would love to see traffic numbers versus, oh let's say 6 years ago,
maybe the site this was posted on is the one really in trouble.

Thank you for the site. You have provided an excellent board and forum for us for the little that we pay. Having known you before you started this site, I have watched all the trials and tribulations that you have went through over the years and you have the patience of a saint. Thanks again and I hope for another ten years of viewing and enjoying your website.

Have a Great Day,

Many kudos to Tomas for a great website. It is useful and entertaining. The cost of my lifetime membership has been returned to me many times over.

WTF is this guy talking about? 90% of guys in the HDR have never even heard of CRT, and his obsession with the owner is getting a little creepy.

Without the CRT I would have a lot less money an perhaps put my life in danger. Crt is very important
to the new monger's and a way to stay informed with the changes.

I've noticed that floridadonor resurfaces every once in a while to write some venomous, idiotic stuff, much like a floater that you just can't seem to flush down the toilet. Sorry, admin, when he messes with you, it pisses me off.

Sure wish I had given this interview its amazing what people or conclusions can be drawn from I don't know what? Perhaps no facts or any concept whatsoever.

I truly wish I didn't have to defend myself against allegations of this nature...

Since Everyone seems to know so much about me and my dealings these days perhaps I should just read the forum to find out what I'm going to do next.

Sincerely surprised a statement would come from this individual to be honest what you but the facts are I have not done anything in any way shape or form that would warrant such comments. My trips have become less frequent because of issues that are of a personal nature & will not be discussed here. As far as the rest RUBBISH!

As we move towards 10 plus years of CRT Pura Vida all we will be here for a long time to come.
