Geez, nothing against Getman, and I wish him continued gigs all over, but he seems to hold a monoply at all the properties in Barrio Amon. Guy, will you be bringing in groups like Moby Dick that you had at the DI several years ago?

The Mona Lisa looked really good tonight...lot of people, casino open, owner on hand as well as Guy giving everyone the personal touch as they checked in. There were also a few girls hanging around... Congrats to the Mona Lisa and hope it is a huge success.

You got it A1NYC, they also do Guns N Roses, stuff like that. I jammed with them once at the Dunn Inn and persuaded them to do some Blues and ZZ Top with me. We all had a great time including the audience.

Arriving on feb 4 and staying at least a few nights at the Hotel Mona Lisa. I will take some pics and do an honest review of the place... hopefully they will have a poker game going.

I was in there Thursday for a look around the first floor.(didn't see rooms) The casino and poker room are beautiful. (like a Vegas casino.) The poker room is open but it will be a month before the table games are open in the casino

Has anyone seen any women?

Whomever and whenever, it's not going to be a whole new set of girls never seen in the gulch prior, other then a few?

Whether it becomes a hang out where you need not venture further or simply a nice take home hotel for us remains to be seen.

No guys at the bar, no chicas. No chicas, no guys at the bar. Mona Lisa is going to have to break alot of monger/chica habits to change the routines. It can happen. Beetle/Beatle Bar fade to black to the Cocal ring a bell?

I'd predict, with all best wishes for Guy that he re-writes the gulch habits because he's cool and I know it's going to be a nice hotel, but it'll be a take home place 95% of the time which will still be a win/win for us and Mona Lisa.

Let's see how smart/dumb I turn out lets say in 6 months in August 2013.

Guys.. lets give them a break here this was simply a soft opening on a busy weekend, they are probably 60 to 90 days from really unleashing.. so I'd hold off on any type of conclusions for sometime.

I am taking the plunge and saying here for 4 nights. This is somewhere around my 130th visit in 27 years of visiting (mostly business but always pleasurable).
Guy has always been a great host. No doubt he will make this a great destination as well. It will evolve and he will see to it that everyone is treated well. It is how he is wired.
I was around when the sportsman opened, the del Rey opened, when the only place to hang was key largo and then the green door. Every great place starts with an opening . I have no doubts that this will be a winner. I will even enjoy the solitude until this place gets some traction.
If you are around, catch me there from feb. 14-18. I will buy the first round.
