I also recommend 90210. I had 18 crowns. Beautiful work. My gums were purplish at my old metal-based porcelain crowns and in a few places they felt numb when I flossed. The owner, Mike Lomax, said that would go away after I received my new crowns. True to his word, my gums never looked or felt better. No more purple. No more numbness. I also am a teeth grinder and I wasn't even aware of it. I broke a few of my crowns at night until I got a night-guard to prevent the grinding from doing damage. Even though it wasn't their fault, they replaced my broken crowns at no charge, including the pickup and return by Jeff. Flossing is a breeze now because the crowns fit close together with just the proper spacing to allow flossing.

The girls like my new smile and so do I.

I have heard yahoo news horror stories of costa rican dentists. Ive been to 90210 for several years. They explain all your options, pricing very reasonable, clean, & professional. Yes Jeff the driver is a very nice guy. CRT sponsor, very good english. My vote.... Dental Esthetics 90210 Smile Costa Rica!

I'm with you fellers. I had a very satisfactory experience at 90210, now known as Costa Rica Dental Team. Made an appointment a week in advance. Jeff picked me up at La Amistad and we arrived at the office for my appointment. I was in the chair right on time. Full x-ray and diagnosis followed by cleaning, drilling, filling and prep for crown with temp installed. Total time about 2 hours. Returned in 2 days for installation of permanent crown and completion of whitening process. Very reasonable price for work completed easily saved enough to pay for my plane ticket. Excellent treatment by all staff and I left a very satisfied customer. My dentist is in Costa Rica and I am looking forward to my check up upon my eminent return to paradise.

90210 without a doubt; had a lot of work done there as has my Tica wife.

With regards to the temps falling off in the soup - so what - they're TEMPS. I've had a butt-load of them over the years in the US and now in CR. Probably half came off early in the US (haven't had that issue yet in CR but it'll happen one day).

With regards to permanently burning the gums I have no comment but am a bit suspicious of the severity & the fault.

When I was there last, it was about the time Honeybee had posted that her temps fell out in her soup. I asked Dr Yelda Fernandez, everyone's favorita dentista at 90210 about it, and she said no way, they use the same cement as for the perm's... so so much for Honeybee's post. She hasn't posted since.

Regarding the burned gums, the poster offered photo's and I think I read about another poster who got his gums burned there.

I have been there 7 or 8 times. I like the place and the docs. The prices are higher then some of the other good guys mentioned (Cavellini e.g.) but you are not sitting there for two hours waiting. That would drive me nuts.

The location isn't the best, about 45 mins or more back to the gulch if you get done around 5pm as I often did, not fun if you've been in the chair 3 or so hours and had major work done, but not as long at other times. The offices are immaculate and very modern. They'll give you as much novacaine as you want/require but not gas--I think the dental law is different in CR then the US when it comes to that. But I different suffer all that much during the worst things I had done there.

You'll deal with a mix of Gringo's and Tico's, the docs all are Ticos or Ticas, but their English is B+ to A.

I've already said how much I liked 90210, but I just want to add that I have had temporary bridges in for a little more than six months now, and none have fallen out or become loose at all. They also threw in a zoom whitening on my lower front teeth at no charge to make them look better after doing bone grafts to them. I'm heading back down next week and will be arriving in the afternoon on 11/9 to get permanents and crowns etc. done starting on the following Monday. Can't wait, for a lot of reasons :D

Me too, since April, no problem other then hard to floss under. One mm too low? Who knows.

But their choice of a distant office location wasn't very smart when they are catering to greengos staying downtown.

I recently used the HuliHealth webpage to book my appointment and go to DDS Dental with Paola Carranza and Vinicio Prada. not only to they have a unique doctor verification process (they only accept doctors recommended by other top doctors in each specialty) but they have a wealth of information about each doctor with approximate prices and photos. I suggest you take a look for your next appointment.

Can't go wrong with 90210. The most state of the art facility that I have ever been to. First dental trip was in 2009. Every metal filling (13) was replaced with a white composite material. Since then 2 implants and 2 crowns. My teeth look great.

Now I'm going back in 3 weeks and I need only a cleaning. Think they will get mad at me? lol

Anyone but 90210! Hacks burned the crap out of my gums when I had my teeth whitened. Permanent damage!

Hey Maximus was this something you wanted done or that they told you was needed? I've had only 1 CR dentist out of 5 (Dr. Chen) NOT insist that I replace all my old fillings... 2 dentists in the states also advised against it, unless the old filling is a problem or cosmetically unappealing. I'm starting think that convincing gringos to unnecessarily replace all our old fillings is a common scam in CR.

In Oct I had 22 crowns ,one root canal and 2 fillings done at 90210 and all I can say is they are the best. The workmanship and materials are only the best. If you go with 90210 you will not be disappointed and save a lot of money. I chose 90210 only after talking to many other happy clients of 90210.
