Haven't been able to get through since before Dec 23 rd. I dial 011-506-8-829 ****. All i get is ringing and then a voice says the call cannot be made at this time. That would be saying that 24/7.I do dial slowly also. I know that can cause a problem. Any thoughts?

One of the problems that pop up is that the number you're trying to call can't accept international calls. Have you tried calling that number from other phones in your possession???

Been calling that number for about 3 years and no problem at all until recently. Last call was about Dec 16,2012

Maybe she didn't pay the phone bill.

Maybe she doesn't like you anymore.

Happened to me one time when I tried to call HLH. I got a answering message saying the call cannot be put through. I waited a while and redialed and got through.
No idea why it happened.

It hasn't been necessary for me to enter the country code for a few months. My smart phone or international plan may be doing it for me. Also when I use skype the country code doesn't show up in the number anymore. I just have to enter +506 **** **** now.

That will drive you nuts, happens to me on occasion.

I know you probably thought of this, but if you can have somebody in CR call your friend and then if he gets the same message/result over let's say a 2-3 day period, maybe the sim is deactivated. That's what it sounds like to me. At least that will eliminate the "international calling problem" issue.

Try texting, it'll appear to go thru regardless if your friend's is working or not so you won't know if your friend got it, but there are times I find out later that my texts get thru despite inability to voice connect.

Calling problem is solved. My friends mother is 75 yrs old and getting decrepit and her younger brother is senile and keeps calling and telling his sister he is gonna choke her to death.. I know the family quite well and i agree with what is going on which is verified by the neighbors that help keep a eye on my friends mother because she is now terrified to be alone. We have made arrangements to get around this and all is good. Granny goes to bed at about 7-7:30 pm and i just call after that or if need be i just call the neighbor next door.
No real drama. Just life when dealing with the aged.

Phone service sucked when the only way you could get a phone there was to go through ICE (government owned), now you have places selling phone like crazy and the coverage now sucks worse. Has anyone received the message "no routes found" yet?
