Look into the Sudamer Apartments. Good location in the gulch near the action.

There are also apartments above the Restaurant Lung Mun, a chinese restaurant on Ave 1, between Calles 5 and 7, only 1-2 blocks from the DR. Last October, I was quoted $700 for a month for a studio. Ave 1 is a pretty busy street, even at night. So I passed on renting because of possible noise at night. The old chinese guy who runs the restaurant and the apartments told me to call the restaurant at (506) 2222-9256 or (506) 2233-4732 for reservations.

Also, you you are into middle easter Cuisine, check out Sisso of Jerusalem. Excellent!

I once stayed at Casa Reflejos in Escazu for a month. It has a nice view,pool, rancho, and gym. It is an aparthotel, so the rates are not bad.

If you stayed there they must gave a sign that reads:
