Jeff confirmed, the Ruben does come with fries and are served in a basket separate from the sandwich. If the bartender/waitress asks if you want fries with it, you have to say yes or you won't get them. There is no extra charge for the fries so not sure why they ask but gotta answer yes to get your fries

It's cone-shaped.

I understand that the midget mentioned before does anal.

Stopped in there several times a couple of weeks ago, and there was no midget there.
However...several of us went to the New Fantasy, and supposedly a midget is working there. We waited for awhile to see her, but apparently she was very busy in the back with a client,
so we never did get to see her.

I was there for one night, last month. Had a great time and was very happy with my accomodations. To each his own.

The place is good, but there are some people you can't please no matter what.

and some who are banned at HLH, and sometimes multiple venues, for inappropriate behavior and just forget to mention it in their post.

Of all the places that regularly get reviews from guys, HLH gets the most "mixed" reviews of any. I have never been to HLH.

SL reviews are consistently good, the main complaint being some of the cheaper rooms and noise, noise is hard to avoid in the gulch other then SI and HI w/intolerable chica fees; and the train in the a.m. at LA; DI fairly good except for the Boyd drama; DR consistently rather negative except for the newbies; the other few places consistent along the lines of you get what you pay for.

But, especially now that Boyd is gone, how does HLH get reviews from superb with hot/nice girls at the right price to a C*ck roach infested (recent post a guy killed a dozen in a week) up-sell clip joint with very not so hot girls sleeping in the work room? From good food to not good food. From a really hopping bar to a school zone.

From unable to get telephone contact with the desk or internet reservations to great response. Same about the drink prices, happy hour, specials--still going or not going? CRT specials, yes or not any more or different. The inconsistent posts about that place are odd, most posters being I think, pretty fair, sometimes overly fair about a place they like.

I remember the recent post from the guy who said he had to do most of the girls because they were out of work, like an act of kindness, but maybe he was kidding.

I've always thought the price was right and what else can you expect at that price, but if the detractors have a semblance of truth, my premise is off.

The latest owner de jour must have his hands full but I sincerely hope he is on the road to making money.

Any more update on HLH? Roaches? Service? Chicks? I stayed at HLH last year and had a blast. I'm trying to choose between MonaLisa and HLH for march 14th weekend?

I spent 3 weeks there and had a blast. Jeff is a great guy that is fun to be around and he has some great ideas that he is working on. Unfortunately there are those that think change is a bad thing or do not understand what is happening in the Business end of things in Costa Rica and will post negative responses without knowing the ins and outs of why things are changing. I myself will be staying there on my next trip and look forward to the changes to come at HLH.
