(For those unaware of "message board lingo" - a sock puppet is another identity created by a poster - one guy, 2 "names" - I'm told - but really don't know for sure - Squidface and Harlo were/are sock puppets The reason a board does not want them is you have fictional entities supporting their creator(s) - as far as Greengo is concerned, I don't have the paticence to wade through his posts, couple this with no one has ever seen the guy; he almost never responds directly - read him; its all just pontificating - I suspect he is an entity created by a resident gringo to express his frustrations with living in CR - then again, I could be wrong; easy way to settle it - show yourself - but he won't )

Some of the more "outlandish" comments I took as tongue in cheek, but after a few trips to CR, and never venturing far from the HDR/KL, many consider themselves experts

Then there should not be any reluctance on your part to meet a CRT member or 2 and prove yourself real - it would be simple; just go over to happy hour at the Sportsmans most any day, meet a few CRTers, and the "mystery" would be solved - but I would not hold my breath waiting for you to show up - you have been posting for a long time - even Irish Drifter, a respected poster who values his privacy, has met with many CRT members over the years - but you have not.

In fact, I'm amazed you even responded - you normally don't.

All I'll say is that I have good reason to believe that Greengo is real, not fake---responsive, not illusory---and knowledgable, not ignorant.

Other people can believe what they want.

The most annoying part is that some members confuse his drivel with good writing. It sucks. He can pretend to emulate a free- wheeling, post Gonzo, neo-beat esthetic, but it is wanna be cheap political drivel. At one point, he intimated he was living somewhere I was travel, and then when I asked a few pointed questions and asked for some assistance, poof.... As stated, it would be nice to have him show up ONCE and meet someone. Just once.

My guess? Some other board member's alter ego sent from his work address, but who knows..

But lets face it Hank, some (many ) of the guys on CRT are not rocket scientists (and yeah, I'm being a jerk b/c I'm a little sick of of the praises heaped upon this guy - don't confuse - like so many do on this board - illiterate gobbledegook with crisp, new age thinking .

And Rac, whos posts I enjoy and often agree with is convinced he exists, and "hints" he knows for sure, in a kinda "smarmy" response (like those who don't believe the guy is real are the dumb ones) - but never admits to meeting him. How do you know, Rac?

Like the thread about the Beatle Bar in Jaco - I posted it was named after the VW model, and others said that was wrong; named after the musical group b/c they say posters of the Beatles there Of course, they were wrong It was named after the car.

At least 90% of his pseudo intellectual posts are unsubstantiated rants and raves. However, there are those who can hardly wait for his next post and believe every word, or at least those they can decipher, and anoint him with great wisdom and insight. There happy, Greengo is happy so whats the harm.

About Greengo, in my post I said that's "all I'll say."

My word is my bond. So, that's all I'll say.

haha It's not that complicated with Greengo. I would guess that he doesn't take the subject of the forum all that seriously and loves to get a rise out of guys that do. Effective too in that he never responds back or gets rattled when flamed. I'm not calling him a troll by any means but it goes back to what has been said about them. You give power to posters you don't like by feeding them.

I don't "dislike" the guy b/c he does not exist; I also reserve my dislike for those I've actually met, or have had some interaction with - it a little like hating the Easter Bunny

I don't like his posts, b/c on every board there seems to be some "wise guru type" that he - and others - feel posses' some "higher degree of knowledge" and don't like that some have anointed him some kind of wise sage; poor reflection on both, to my way of thinking.

But he's probably ready to have a huge load of come over whats been posted, if he has not already done so.

While I respect what Rac posted, it would be an easy thing to settle who he is, or if he even exists - until then he remains a sock puppet.
