Hey fellow CRTs,
I'm considering flying into Liberia instead of SJO as there is a seat sale on now.
Getting from LIB to SJ downtown looks straight forward (taxi from LIB airport to Pulmitan terminal in liberia then bus it to SJO airport then Interbus to SJ downtown).
Going the opposite way back it what I need some help with....is there Pulmitan terminal/bus stop in SJ downtown or only at the SJO airport?

cheers

Myrivers try this link http://www.thebusschedule.com/cr/index.php

I think you can take the bus from Liberia to Central San Jose and the reverse on the way out.

Your connection with Transportes Deldú arrives at:

Calle 14, Av 3-5
San José
2677-0091

Your connection with Pulmitan arrives at:

Pulmitan: Calle 24, Ave. 5-7
San José
2666-0458

cheers,
Attila

I assume the airfare must be really cheap because that's a long bus ride as you no doubt know, in addition to all the other to-fro time, and the hassles. But I'm spoiled and inpatient and couldn't handle that ride.

I've used Liberia a few times for the same cheap fare reason when I didn't need to go to SJ, but when I did I rented a car and only headed further south on the west coast. And sometimes you can get a non-stop to Liberia from a major city like mine where surprisingly you can't get a non-stop to SJ, and then it's really a tempting option.

If you do it, I'm sure alot of guys would like to hear how long it really took you via bus and whatever else you could post. Often, lots of cheap seats to Liberia, sometimes just from regular airlines and sometimes from unsold package/charter operators that will sometime allow air only and peel off the hotel part.

Attila...thanks for the web site link. Using Pulitan bus & taxis should do the trick.
Non-stop flight from Toronto Canada to SJO return on AirCanada = $1150.00 Cdn tax incl.
A little cheaper if I fly thru Atlanta with a 5 hr stop-over. Mix bag of options.
The cost of living in the GWN (Great White North) :)

Myrivers, where are departing from? If you are flying out of yyz, Taca has a daily flight with a 1 hr. stopover in sal....cheaper than AC. Did that flight 3 times in the last 4 months, paid between $400-425....rainy season price. In dec. Air Transat & Sunwing will have direct flights from yyz to sjo.

I looking for a cheap flight, during the christmas holidays , but every airline is asking for your first born. Anyway have a fun trip and if you are doing the Liberia route write a report how it's done. Might have to fly to Liberia myself.

cheers,
Attila

Attila, I'm flying out of YTS (Timmins, ONT) via YYZ to SJO. I'll keep checking Taca for some deals.
I use these web sites for seat sales....

Westjet to LIB is listed there...
http://www.selloffvacations.com/Cheap-Flights.asp

http://www.cheapoair.ca
http://www.tripcentral.ca

I should look more into a Florida flight (YYZ to Florida to SJO).

Selloffvacations is good but tripcentral and cheapoair's prices are expensive. Here's a few where you could get good deals.

http://www.expedia.ca/
http://www.itravel2000.com/
http://www.redtag.ca/flights.php

I don't like staying at the Morazan but Orbitz has a deal for them. Standard for $39 plus an additional 15% which comes to $33/night. http://www.orbitz.com/travel-deals/cyber_sale/

cheers,
Attila

I say think about ride the bus over then treat yourself to Sansa back like $ 84.00 and a 45 min . plane ride to see an overview. Maybe go back a day early and stay in Coco Beach eat at Papa Guia's.

Attila...thanks I use those as well excluding expedia. I also use hotwire.ca for hotels lay-overs in Toronto.
Usually stay at the Comfort Inn Toronto Airport North hotel. Clean and has a nice German style bar plus
fee airport shuttle. We have Porter Airlines in Timmins now which has forced air canada to drop prices.
Strange how competition works! A/C had a monopoly for years up here.
Where abouts are u located?

PS No NHL strike talks for 2 weeks  ...my poor Winnipeg Jets

I also live in Toronto and now use Lacsa which has one short stop over in El Salvador and gets to SJ at 4:05 pm leaves for YYZ 12:20 . I paid $431 in Oct but for Feb trip it`s $680 which is the normal price. I like Air Canada because it`s non stop but if you don`t have to go in and out of the US Lacsa is good. You don`t have to worry about the connection because it is like a non stop and won`t leave until your plane has boarded. First I`ve hear of this but this is what I was told.

I live in TO. With the NHL strike that means the Leafs aren't on a losing streak :D :D :D :D

Sunwing and Air Transat are starting a direct flight to sjo in the middle of Dec. I think it's only for the high season. Usually if you wait a week or 2 before departure, you could get a good price. Planning to go to sjo last 2 weeks of Dec. Still the airlines are asking for my first born.

cheers,
Attila

-35!....down in TO we whine when it goes below 0. At least you could keep yourself entertained by going to the Shania Twain museum :D :D :D :D

Anyway, I'm trying to head down from christmas to new years day....made a promise to a friend. Not thrill with the airlines asking for $1200 return. I paid $400 when I went down in Oct. Might wait till the last minute to book.

cheers,
Attila
