They do use a lot of pesticides which is a big reason I buy organic as much as possible. Super high rate of stomach cancer according to what I have read. Interesting book I'm reading right now called the China Study which talks a lot about carcinogens we ingest and how a certain type of diet can negate the bad effects.
how do you know it is organic? who said it is organic? did you test it?
only thing i'd consider organic are the crops in my yard. in california, many many claims to organic, but how many gov't inspections do the farms get a year for certification? if typical gov't, there are 500 farms to 1 inspector so i don't trust organic anything. i just buy the regular.
i see a lot of people in 3rd world countries living until they are well into their 70s with minimal help from medicine (unlike my dad who is 72 and lives on 9 pills a day). how much longer does anyone think organic food will give them to live? i subscribe to thinking cancer is to a degree genetic some are more likely than others to get it and considering a lot of people eat out in the US, well, worrying about organic doesn't really make sense (unless you are eating at upscale restaurants... most don't).
when it comes to reading the food label, i'm after the most fiber and protein possible, but i just can't deal with this organic BS that seems to me is more about charging more for something that really isn't organic at all.
it used to be that the farmer's markets were cheaper than the grocery store because it knocked out the distributor, but now all the farmers want to claim organic so they can charge more.... i will eat regular until i die and if i die from cancer, i will be convinced that my genetic code had cancer in it so nothing i could do about it since other than organic i do try to eat well.
