I was in the HLH the other day and must say, I was rather disappointed. i know change is hard for some people but I am not one to judge so quickly. However, the change is not for the good. The food "Ruben" was still consistent but over priced at $9 (no fries or chips with that) . They use to have the best happy hour in town but not anymore. So I figured, what the heck, they'll still take the CRT card and get a little discount. NOPE! It seems Jeff doesn't take that either. He did explain that they did accept it when you book a room or stay there. I'm local, not gonna be staying there any time soon. I guess he has not considered all the CRT member who are locals. Too bad, it use to be a cool place to go. Not anymore. Jeff is way too loud as well. Sorry to disappoint some but it's just the way I feel. All in my group that was there the other night, felt the same way.

Frank, you are more than entitled to your opinion; in fact even though i like the place, I think for years HLH has been one of the "sacred cows" on CRT that was to a certain extent above criticism - and I suspect that they might have made a mistake in eliminating the Happy Hour, even though they did lower the drink prices a little. If this has an effect on their bottom line I would bet its back in a hurry. Right ot wrong, new management is trying new things, and possibly eliminating/simplifing pricing - good or bad, we will all see probably soon.
But I posted about this October 19th, in this very thread that the CRT card was no longer accepted at the bar (it was only a 10% discount) for drinks or food - so what you, or your group encountered should not have come as any great surprise.
Also agree w/ you about the Reuben sandwich; however anyone can tell them that it belongs on rye bread (with seeds) - I liked the sandwich but thought the bread was a bad choice.
