Not to hijack your thread, BP, but its time we let the market decide and stop the puritanical view of the oldest profession; our laws in the USA regarding legalization of Prostitution are not followed or endorsed by much of the world, and to take police resources to prosecute a non crime by consenting adults <notice I said adults> seems ridiculous to me - same feeling about pot (even if legal I would never smoke it; makes me phyically ill - maybe alergic to the THC?)

In my state, all of her audio/video recordings would be inadmissable against the potential defendants/Johns because we are one of the 50% +/- of states that require both sides consent to record without a warrant, so there would only be a case against her. I guess Maine is apparently one of those states that only requires one sided consent.

A fella would be wise to find out what the law is in his state to whether he can tape aonther peron's conversation without their consent for situations or circumstances a guy is in, either for defensivel or proactive purposes.

I have one hooked up to my office phone and one at home, but I have to get consent from the one I want to tape in my state.

The newer digital recorders are terrific, record multiple different conversations and 50+ hours of talk time, and you can do a USB hook up to a computer and then it converts any particular recorded conversation to a Windows Media File for storage on your computer. The point is no more of keeping track of a bunch of mini/micro cassettes. They are also smaller, thinner and lighter then a typical smart-phone for putting/recording in your jacket pocket.

Her motive for secretely taping wasn't revealed in the article, but I cannot think of one that doesn't stink.

PS: I wonder if there is a law in CR about the same issue. Sure seems that in CR there are a lot of disputed "I said, she said", or "the officer said but I showed him" situations, amongst other situations (from hotels to rent cars to you name it) where a record may help a fella. Probably not a good idea if your tape shows you are right and the powers are wrong, you'll probably get charged under some statute making it illegal since 1901 since even before the technology was available, and that guarantees you'll be in the hole for a while.

Maine is a state that only requires one party to know Trust, I know. It's how I caught my ex wife cheating. I installed a telephone line recorder in the basement crawl space. Tapped into the phone line and recorded her. Since the phone was in my name only and not hers it was legal since I knew it was tapped. Best 50 bucks I ever spent. Confronted her after I had recorded multiple conversations. She denied right up to the time I produced the tape recorder. Then she continued to deny saying "theres nothing on that tape, your bluffing" I pushed play and as soon as she heard hers and his voices she stormed out of the room calling me an asshole and blamed everything on me. I filed for divorce the next day.

With some men being wrongly accused the judge was forced to reveal the full names, addresses and ages of the men today.

I live up here in Maine and from a small local story it has become National news even to the point of an article in A.M Costa Rica the other day. I personally know one poor bastard who got caught - his name and address were published yesterday in the largest daily in Maine. He knew it was coming and took his family to Florida for the week. You can be certain that there will be further discussions with his wife during that trip.

He was ecstatic when he first visited Kennybunk and was singing her praises. He even tried to recruit his buddies (me included) to join him in "dance' lessons. Thank God that I limit my dances to CR.

Everyone assumes that many notable individuals will be on the "List". Lives and reputations will be ruined. It is ridiculous that in this day and age the District Attorney is hell bent to label guys with a scarlet letter for all the world to see.

(reminds me of a story <a true one> I worked with a guy who was going out of town but decided to stop in at the office first - he discovers he forgot something needed for his trip, and figures he will stop at his house on the way out of town - when he pulls up, he says to himself "What the heck is 'Joe's' car doing parked in fromt of my house?" <Joe was - was his best friend> well, he goes to the side of the house, looks in and sees what Joe was there for - and hint - it was not to return the power saw he borrowed a couple of weeks ago - he said he watched them Phuck - and his wife suck his friend off - before going in and confronting them - great story )
