i believe it depends upon your priorities ~ yes ~ the public bus is inexpensive & you get to enjoy all the local sights, sounds & smells all day long ~ interbus is a few bucks more & a much more comfy ride ~ if time is important a one way from pavas airport to tamarindo is less that $cien (sansa or nature air) ~ enjoy both the journey & the destination ~

thinking that I'd prefer the middle ground, Interbus sounds right, have a link you can point me to that would help me get up to speed?

Sansa Air - www.flysansa.com

or

Nature Air - www.natureair.com

Only 35-40 minutes from San Jose. One way less than $100. Plane lands in Tamarindo, then a few minute taxi ride to "downtown" Tamarindo.
