I will be going down to CR in July and from what I understand the Sportsmen's Lodge appear to be a pleasant place, but from what I understand on there web site http://www.sportsmenscr.com there appear to be no a/c in any rooms and no safe deposit box, I believe there is one at the front desk, but one in your room would be more private. A small refrigerator would be nice too. Anybody know what the weather is like in July, I do not fancy to be sweating bullets when I'm shooting bullets  .

It is rare that A/C is needed, except as a white noise generator. A ceiling fan is enough for most people. SJ is a kilometer high, so it is not that hot, though if you go down to the beach, it is a different matter. In July, it usually gets into the low 80's but rains in the afternoon and cools things down. Unlike in the Summer in the US or Canada, the sun goes down at around 5:30 all year, so it doesn't turn into a steambath after the rain.

I don't know the rooms at SL, but I stay around the corner, and the breeze in Amon is great. The air is much better than a few blocks over, and it keeps things cool. In December you need a jacket.

Just spent 4 nights there. No a/c in the place. Each room has a ceiling fan plus a box fan on the floor. If you keep your window closed it can get a bit "stuffy" during the day, but not really hot. I would keep my window open & run the ceiling fan to keep a breeze going. At night, with the box fan running, it would get downright chilly.

No in-room safes as of yet. They will keep your items in the large safe in the little room behind the front desk. It was never any problem gaining access to my items in the safe.

It's a nice quiet place away from the rat-race in the Gulch. It is, however, and easy walk to the Gulch, plus It's a very easy walk to both NF & ZB.
