I would now consider staying there like I did the clarion, use it as a laid back place to take a break.

I like Boyd too but this is a very bad reason not to go there. Great place!

My post has nothing to do with Boyd it did back when it happened but it has been long enough for me to give them a try.

I've only had one voyage to the paradise, or San Jose, but I truly enjoyed the Dunn Inn. I travelled solo, and being so close to HLH, SL and Del Rey was easy to walk to $2 cab it around, plus, if i wanted to sleep, it was quite. No the "frat house" atmosphere at the SL or HLH. Not that is bad, just not what I wanted. My bring back chica was no problem, appreciated the phone call when she left the room from front desk staff to make sure I was ok, and food, staff, beer, everything was first class!!! My hotel of choice when I'm in town.

The big question for me is if John Gomes is still the GM at DI. If he is, I will stay at the Amistad!

Believe it or not I just read the 25 page thread about Boyd's departure from HLH. Seriously, I'm that out of touch. Was going to PM Boyd, see how things are going, and book a room at his hotel for a couple nights. Ha!

So now I'm wondering if Dunn Inn is in fact a decent choice, at least one I should not discount because of the situation between them and Boyd. I enjoyed the place when Boyd was there and the rooms are just fine- great actually. I'm only looking for a place for a couple nights until my apartment is ready. OTOH though, if what I'm reading is true perhaps the best play, the "right play" is to stay at HLH to help the guys out that apparently got burned by Boyd. I just like to get my girls from all venues and not sure I want to bring friends back to HLH nor that I'll get that much value from the discounted sessions because of that.

I'd be booking Sportsmens but they are full... so what's a brother gonna do?

Quite honestly and with all due to respect to all, I don't understand this relentless booking rooms based on the current personalities that happen to be associated with the establishment. I mean, I think Bill is the nicest guy in the world, but I would have never stayed there if he didn't have a room I enjoyed staying in. Sometimes I have to read a few times to make sure I see things right and think, you've got to be kidding me. More manlove on this board than a San Francisco parade.

Just because it has refurbished rooms and cockroaches as one member said. It must be the perfect place for current Riff Raff to stay .

don't understand this?

I recently spent a week at the Dunn Inn and could not have been more pleased with all aspects of the hotel. John is a great manager and took time each day to talk to all the guests.

Had no trouble, questions or problems taking Chicas to the room....etc...

Security was good to excellent

Food was great.

Room was clean and quiet.

Really great value.
