As ID posts, the place falls into a love it or hate it situation - I've stayed there many times (for whatever reasons - perhaps going back to staying at the Presidente when they had a sane guest policy

- I've always preferred that part of town)
And yeah, the place can be maddening; how f-ing tough is it to get a remote that works; to keep an elevator working (plan on at least one down day if you are there a week

) and as of May, Hank, the safes - at least the one in my room - had a key vs combination/keypad. Too, some guys can't stand the always there bell hop, "Rickey Ricardo" (not his real name, btw) - and the rooms, at least the standard ones, could use an upgrade. So I get it why some hate the place

- and unlike some, I respect your right to do so.
All that said, and freely acknowledged, if you like that part of town, you cannot beat the location. I stay there b/c they leave you alone, and don't hassle you about guests (and they call after every one, to see if everything is OK, before handing back the guests Cedula/ID - the Prez, for all their sactimonious bull shit, never did, in all the many years I stayed there

)
Attila, with the exception of the higher floor rooms at the Holiday Inn (not an option at present with a $75 + tax guest fee

), I've never had a really quiet one in San Jose - the place is just loud, what with the f-ing car alarms going off the loud motorcycles, and various other traffic and street noise; hotels in SJ, they never heard of double pained windows, I guess

So Morazon is no worse than many others - OTOH, no excuse for vermin in the room (other than what we might bring in - sorry sorry

) or a dirty room for that matter.
Candidly, 'Rivers, you might prefer the Sportsmans, or HLH - more of a frat house, guys at the bar atmosphere - Morazon seems to attract those of us who want to pick and choose company, and those not needing a wingman (but perhaps that's my perception based upon many stays there, and meeting many of the guests

)
