Temptation is definately more prevalent while visiting CR as you could partake and no one would know except yourself. I have 5 trips to CR , 2 to Colombia, 1 to Belize with no slips. I remember everything, feel great every day, walk , swim , make friends out of complete strangers. My sexual performance is much better. I usually travel solo and my last trip i took a buddy that drinks, no problem for me as I left him hungover in the room every morning for my usual morning walks. When I returned i get to listen to him whine about how bad he feels all day.

I see a lot of guys that just nurse a soda or a bottle of water at the bars. Even drinkers do it to keep up their stamina :-)

Not at all! I'm not a friend of Bill W. but am usually a tea toddler. I drank orange soda NF and if I am correct a diet coke at HDR was 1300 colones.

I'm not; in fact drink very little (always have; just a personal preference)

I think everyone who's a friend of Bill has to guage their own level of temption and make a personal decision - just looking at some of the fools who are drunk, or talk about how drunk they were yesterday, last night, etc should be enough to keep anyone on the wagon (someday, idiots are going to realize how dumb that kind of talk - and behavior really is unless your audience is a bunch of 8th graders   :( :( )

I just read a post in one of the threads where someone took credit for being drunk for a week - 'cmon, are you really that lame? Or immature  :?:  Or if you are really tempted, look around the Sportsmans, HLH, HDR, Harry's Bar Poas, or any other bar you can think of and look at the lame-o's in their ugly shorts, disgusting shirts, filthy smelly leather sandals (complete with disgusting yellow toe nails - yuck), stringy, dirty hair and missing teeth looking like they have not had a bath in 2 weeks and tell your self "Yes, this is who I want to be exatly like - these c__ksuckers are my role models"

Also - no one gives a damn what you are drinking, or is likely to notice - and if they do - reread the 2nd paragraph above.

I have often wondered why when in the land of Honey, people want to get stone ass drunk. You can stay at home
save the money and do it from the comfort of your own home. The Land of Honey is just that. A land were you can enjoy just about every size, shape, color or just plain woman you want. You do not have worry about some cop, do good, or gringa telling you you are a pig or a degenerate ( You maybe but that is your business.) so go to the promised land and rejoice in being a man. If you got to have a drink to get courage or wood, please read the Board and you will find there is no need to have a drunk on.

Just my thoughts.

Unfortunately that does not portray the situation for many who consume alcohol in excess. Alcoholism is considered by the medical profession to be a disease.

It is easy to claim the moral ground when talking about those who are addicted to various substances, gamble to excess and other things held in contempt by a large percentage of the population. Your "land of honey" is also one of the things that many would claim puts you in the same moral class as those you chastise. How many mongers are "cheating" on wife's, fiances, girl friends, etc? How many look for cover stories of why they are "vacationing in Costa Rica?

It all comes down to live your own life without judging the way others live theirs. You are not your brothers keeper and unless you are without sin do not cast the first, or any other, stone.
