I am a little concerned being 30 and going by myself. I think I have narrowed it down to two places:

I guess should I head to CR or DR? Does it matter as far as safety and/or cost goes?

I am looking for the best lady(s), food & drink but also want to consider budget. It seems the ladys with tip run around $40 for a few hours or $70 for the night until AM?

What should I watch out for if I stay at these places or during my travels? Anyone know how close the beach is as I really want to go hang at the beach for a bit during the afternoons. Any beaches have bars? Again being by myself I need to be cautious. Are any of these places dangerous?

Ha geez yeah either CR or DR. Not sure just yet just look at a cost breakdown and safety.

A lot of guys that go to the DR like to hang out at the New Garden in Sosua. You will have the opportunity to meet many seasoned vets there who may point you in the right direction. But check out the ISOC website first. There is more info on the DR there than I even care to read. If you like the beach, Sosua is the place to go. The nearest beach from San Jose, CR is two hours away.

Both Sosua and San Jose are good places for a new monger to get started.

I am curious though who will have the best selection? Blackbeard sent me a list of their girls and a few were pretty but the rest I would pass on. I am only interested in the casino, lady(s) the beach and my room. I do not want to go out on the town unless I meet a few other guys that seem pretty cool. I am young (30) and in shape but going some place by myself is a bit scary! I really appreciate your help

Dude, you'll be fine on your own as long as you have some Spanish & elemental street sense. New Garden is a really good hotel, good restaurant & chicas hang around most of the day. If you walk down to the beach in the afternoon, you'll see some chicas. Lots of bars on the beach. I went by myself last month, saw lots of ugly chicks in Sosua, left early & spent the last 2 nights at Blackbeard's. The talent at BB's was better, but really only marginally...it depends on what your taste in girls is like. Note: BB's is about 45 min from Sosua & there is no casino onsite. There are casinos in Sosua, but that's not my thing, so can't advise you about that.

The nice thing about CR is you are never "by yourself" unless you want to be.
