I'm new to this board. LT monger and got my feet wet in CR over 20 years ago. I'm planning a new trip after years of checking out other places Brazil, Thailand, etc. Time to get back to where it all began.

Lots of new info. and changes. This board is great info.!

I've noticed most of the hotels (Dunn Inn, Del Rey, La Amistad) offer wireless in the rooms. I was wondering though -- Do they have connections for ethernet cable also, or must you be set up for wireless only. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. My lap top is having issues with it's wireless capabilities.

I can only speak for the DR and it's Wifi. The only ethernet is downstairs by reception connecting the two work stations there. Someone else will chime in on the others.

Why not just purchase a usb wireless adapter?

Www.newegg.com has them as cheap as $10 with free shipping, nano size dongle $12

Bring a cable anyway (a long one) in case you wind up at LA or another where they have either or both in the room, most times a better connection the ethernet way. I stay at SI usually, no wireless to speak of but ethernet in each room. Then they think they have you and will rent you a cable at $7 per diem. Other then the $35 chica fee, I love the place, especially 3rd floor center rooms facing Colonial, extremely quiet.
