I will be in Jaco in August for the first time and was thinking of getting a place at the Vista Mar. Looks great but looks quite family/couple oriented. Does anyone know if they are "guest" friendly? Are there any additional fees for bringing guests back to the room? Any info would be appreciated.

I just saw your post - Vista Mar is a great place to stay and no issues with guests. The security desk holds the girls IDs and the guys have been known to make a few calls for you during the day if you are looking for some afternoon action. With the BB jacking up there prices it has made the pool bar at the Cocal the hotest spot in Jaco - nothing better than sitting on the balcony overlooking the Pacific with a cold drink watching the sun go down and then the short walk down to the casino and pool bar for all the action anyone could want. Highly recommended. Try to get a room 4th floor or higher if possible, the only negative is the lower level rooms view of the ocean is blocked by the Cocal. Happy Hunting.

Second Railroadme's response in all respects. Will add the location downtown is nice with most everything in easy walking distance.

One other thing, the condo building has its' own private pool for people staying there and their guests which can open up a few options
