i need to know of some CLEAN love motels to stay in for an hour or 2 close to DR. I've been to Hotel Asia once before and had no prob but that was like 5 yrs ago, is it still ok? are there any other slightly nicer ones. i've read varying reports on La Oficina and Hotel Asia for that matter. thanks all!

recently went to motel idem
$40 for up to 12 hours
very clean,large bed ,jacuzzi,steam+shower nice bathroom.
Cab drivers kill you 4000 there 7000 back-talked to gringo's and locals next day about cab prices and it was unanimous that it was standard prices.Still feel i got gringo tax

Look into Hotel Diana, on the corner across Parque Morazon from the Holiday Inn.

I've not been in the place, but a HDR chica told me it was $10 for a short time when I told her that I was staying at The Presidente.

I use that line to get rid of the ugly, peskie ones. It works every time.

Most of us have walked passed that hotel 100x and never gave it a thought. Anybody tried it short time?

i always stay at the casa69 bnb four blocks away from the HDR only 50 night and can bring girl back no issue and no extra charge...

Maruecco (sp) has a sign that says 5000 colones for 2 hours. I think there are a few more around like that in the area headed to downtown Auto Mercado.

Looks like an OK place, also noticed it is advertising as "gay friendly".

Thirdworld: Can you provide directions from let's say DR or any other well known gulch place? I'd like to check it out. Thanks in advance.

I'm horrible with giving directions so somebody else might have to jump in. haha I will use Harry's Poas Bar as a reference. You are walking away from the direction of the SL, INS building so when you get to Harry's, cross the street and take a left at the next block. It is on the left side of the street and is not very far after you turn left. When you make that left just start looking, it won't jump out at you. I'm not remembering the distance. No more than 100 meters. If you kept walking there would be an Auto Mercado on the right side of the street. The place had been mentioned on the board before and I use to see ads around. They used to have girls on premises. It doesn't look like a lot of coming and going so they may just be renting rooms now.
