It is my understanding that it has been for sale for a while. It is on my "if I could I would" list. However I know nothing about owning a hotel and the bank would laugh as they walked me out the door when asking for that large of a loan :lol:

For that price you should be able to buy the entire country...

I guess "TURNKEY OPERATION" would include Darren and the crew.
There's been talk about selling and/or relocating the hotel for at least the past 5 or 6 years.
I hope whoever buys it, can make the restaurant work.

Sure hope the Outside bar is at least open, I will be there in Sep, after labor day weekend, and need my afternoon pick me up. I love this hotel and stay no where else. Best staff of any

A month ago, the outside bar was open. The restaurant was not. Complimentary breakfast was good. Chicas were scarce.

Just booked a room fro October 13 thru October 29 at the Castillo. Have stayed there a few times for a couple of nights per trip and have always had good service. And you can't beat the price for the location. I just hope any potential sale doesn't screw up my reservation.

I've stayed at the Castillo many times. Safe, secure & consistent. Great service and I'm greeted with 'welcome home'
when I check in.

Hell....I just may buy that place and set it up for the "badfellas" and "nerds" and "tin foil hat crew". First order of business: fiber into the hotel for internet and DISH network tv in all rooms. New beds, similar to Matt's at La Amistad; fridge in every room; a/c in every room; bar converted to VIP room for whatever?!!......members only.......

I'm pretty sure the owner will agree to my price.....he wants out after all......;

stay tuned...... 8)

I used to stay at Castillo before I discovered La Amistad. Personally, I think that $1.4 mill is a little steep considering the renos that are required on the rooms, but if I had the coin, I'd consider it.
