I said in another thread recently that I knew quite a bit about this situation, but I didn't feel it was any of my business to post it here. Since I hope the guys who are getting off by keeping this going will wake up and stop it. It's basically OVER. Oh by the way the car was NOT taken to Panama and sold. In fact the car NEVER left CR and was returned yesterday to it's rightful owner, The person who had it and his spouse are resting comfortable in the local hoosgow. So since the thread as deteriorated to incorrect rumor. So there you have it. All you guys need to know and you can return to your sandboxes.

but it was stolen obviously and that would seem to be the most important part. was it a random act by a street thief or a part of the infamous departure?

Again, see how that rumor worked out. You guys were ready for a town lynching for a missing Mercedes that we still don't know if Boyd, Ed, Jeff, Paul or Larry had anything to do with. Those unfair allegations based on speculations and rumor.

Again, we are not privy to the actual facts. This entire thread is based on rumor and hearsay.

P.S. I did see Vegas Bob at the Sportsman's Lodge recently and he did wave back at me after I waved first.

Seriously folks if Mr. Burton doesn't owe you something, why do you care? Why these contortions? He's left a mostly positive legacy, after all. Anybody wanting to know where a guy is has only to send a PM--if he wants you to know, he'll tell you. O/W debtors aside it's not your business. Mr. Burton was an episode in a Latin country who may or may not have burned some folks. I found him companionable thus don't join in the general condemnation...even if he was found guilty in a court of law, he always did me right and will always be a friend. Costa Rica--A sunny country for shady people. Anybody here not heard this? Expanding, there's a lot of anger by folks who believed in him and feel they got sold out. Can't help you there but maybe a beverage in the DI Big Lounge or sampling the talents of the improved crew at HLH can assuage some of your pain.

See Jazz, some folks like to see others fail - especially others with a positive reputation and positive comments often said about them. As a society, we love a train wreck - you don't believe folks watch NASCAR to see fast cars go in a circle

I'll admit the Boyd/HLH "cheering section" could get annoying, but it never really bothered me b/c I like Boyd and respected what he did while managing the place, and as I previously stated, guys are entitled to post their opinions (Its a message board after all) especially in matters of personal taste and others are free to agree or disagree. You see, I like to see people and well managed places do well, especially if their success is backed up by hard work :)

What a shock...... the "stolen mercedes" story turns out to be just that - a rumor  never happened if the latest intel is true.

Also.....I suspect that no matter how flat you make a pancake, it always has 2 sides - But what would trouble me more if I were Boyd would be how do I explain like 6 jobs in 6 years and so short a tenure at each........

Another rumor. Rumors are proof as long as they are pro-Boyd. No proof offered. Odd that he would know about this Mercedes in a town of 300 Mercedes? 400? 500? How do you know about a fellow monger's involvement with a certain Mercedes and the identity of the true owners and that people were arrested?

I am naive to many things. I did not own a passport before I decided to come to Costa Rica.

One has to live here or in a similar type country to really be able to understand the difference between doing anything here and how it is in the USA. This place can drive you mad. I really mean this place can put someone over the edge. I would not do business here unless I had no other choice.

The really amazing part is not that someone had 6 jobs, it's that someone was able to get 6 jobs. I have met many people that couldn't get a job, ran out of money and went back to the USA.

It's one thing to spread a rumor that accuses someone. This is harmful. Example: ( He stole a car.)

It's another thing to spread a rumor that does not harm anyone. ( No cars are missing.)

There may be 500 Mercedes in Costa Rica. But in our circle, only one was rumored to be missing. The rumor was that the car was sold for cash in Bogota.

Panama, but you make a good point about harmful/non-harmful rumors.

Just curious how this poster who admits he had alot of unposted info re this thread and who was familiar with the Player, knew about this one particular Mercedes in question; its real owner; how the owner got the car back; and how he knew the alleged thiefs (another rumor, but his one harmful) got locked up.

I think his Nica girlfriend caught him banging one of the little putas there and cut him up and disposed of the body.

The thread that keeps on giving. I got drunk last night and decided it was a fabulous idea to give my new cat , Kitty Kitty, a bath while my Nica was bathing.

I'm an idiot.

P.S. My cat always waves back if you wave at her first.

Ok, here is the only part about the situation that I am remotely interested in, being sympathetic to a business that is greatly crippled by a rumor. And I don't know, just wondering. I was never close with him and don't claim to be. But I liked the guy and he never did anything to me so If he did do all of the things that are being suggested and is a serious pro con man, oh well, I've known a few in my day and actually like most of them. Interesting characters. The thing that does bother me a little, just from the standpoint of respecting a person's business and hating to see a business owner lose major money because of something beyond their control. Which brings me to the Dunn Inn. The only thing about the situation that would bother me is if the DI got unjustly crucified. Let's don't get back into the argument about how much damage to DI, but we all know that if they had continued to be one of the little "CRT Darlings" that place would probably have been jumping since the redo. Like one of the comments earlier in the thread, I don't quite understand why anyone is passionate on either side of the coin, unless they actually were wronged and lost money.

If Mickey Mouse says phuck Disney then I'm going to the Grand Canyon in my station wagon with my bastard K*ds.

This is some bullshit in retrospect. The DI used Boyd to get us then dumped him at the last second.

Long live the HLH, the Sportsman's Lodge. and.... heck,... I guess.... Long live the Queen.

This is the first thing written here that squares with my memories of Boyd and his family. As far as help in disposing--she has family in CR...
