Why are the "goodfellas" so afraid of the truth? It is what it is....

After the underwhelming success of th BK Challenge, I heard BKTuna was selected for Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition and had to fly out of CR to get to the ranch on time.

Something smells in all of this:

A couple things I haven't heard is what about his family? He's got a beautiful little girl I saw on one of the threads awhile back and I think he's got a steady lady/wife. What about them? Do they remain in CR? Are they OK too?

I don't know Boyd personally but I've met him and he was a stand-up guy to me. For that I'll always be grateful. I know it's not good to speculate but it's clear from this thread and others that nobody is buying the "family business" argument. That doesn't hold up because Boyd was/is instrumental to HLH's success. If it was "family business" then he would take care of whatever issue(s) and come back to a job. Since he lost the job in addition to exiting CR upon his release it likely means he's in big trouble. I'm talking, you've got till sundown to "get out of town" trouble. That's not good. Good men like Boyd would never leave the Gulch community without saying a proper farewell.

If in fact there was a significant amount of money stolen from the establishment I would be deathly afraid. Here's why: My impression of the Gulch from the first time I passed the DR was this is a shady place. Notice I didn't say, bad, I said shady. If you don't think there's not organized crime in the Gulch you might wanna re-assess the situation. There's graft and corruption anytime money and power come together for a purpose. It's hidden and obvious at the same time. If Boyd owes money or took something that doesn't belong to him from any place or establishment then... Tell you what I wouldn't want to get on anyone's bad side down there. Otherwise, you just might never go home...ever.

Some of you veterans of the Gulch will probably flame me for bringing this up. That's fine. I'm the junior guy and I'm telling you what I think with fresh eyes. I have yet to be indoctrinated in your "codes of silence." To those who are gonna slam me for bringing out the obvious I say, "IT'S NOT THE CRIME, IT'S THE COVER-UP."

My $0.02

Actually my calculated attack against the Done Inn is warranted. I felt Boyd got the shaft on that deal.
HLH is different story. Boyd is my friend, but owning and operating your own business has its trials and tribulations. If he has family business that is what I assume it to be. There is more than one owner in HLH
and you have to please the majority of them. Being a silent owner sometimes has its perks versus being
on the front. I have extensive experience in hotel and liquor sales. It takes a special person to work around a party atmosphere . Most people do not know the discipline it takes. I have seen many men succumb to
their weaknesses when it comes to alcohol and other vices. Boyd is excellent in public relations and that
goes a long way in business. I know I have my strong points and weaknesses like any other person. The
best thing is to be smart enough to recognize them before it becomes a problem an affects your life. I will support Boyd ,he is captain of his ship and he is the one responsible to keep everyone happy. Again I say Boyd is my friend!

Last year, Boyd was fired from his job at the Dunn Inn because he couldn't get along with his boss. That simple. Whatever side of that argument you find yourself on is your choice. What happened afterward was Boyd asking many of us to "come to his defense", ie; slander the Dunn Inn online while he pretended to be above it. Extraordinary accusations and side stories about being accused of dealing drugs, etc. But those accusations were only heard from Boyd accusing them of accusing him.

I have never heard anyone associated with the Dunn accuse him of anything but insubordination.

The simple fact is, Boyd couldn't take orders from the people who were paying him and was fired as a result.

The latest rumor is that Boyd embezzled roughly $50k from HLH and has left town. I don't know how much, if any of that rumor is accurate. It could be someone making shit up, it could be spot on. Only time will tell.

I heard he took a box of cigars and Kelvin is looking for him...

I may get slammed for this, but so be it. As I have said, I like Boyd from what I know of him, and I think a lot of us have had good experiences with him. However, I don't think that has been uniformly true. I find it troubling here that sometimes some of the "in crowd" are protected (and I have been guilty of that as well). It is just like the La Amistad thread- we be allow a free exchange of info within the guidelines of the board. I think there is a balance between rumor and intel.

Also, there is a track record to consider, and frankly, unless he is really not wanting to be found, why would he not come on for 5 minutes and clean things up?

The last thing- some here have referred to him (and at times, others) as "friends" or "good friends" when probably they are really just aquantances. I am not suggesting that some of you are not part of Boyd's inner circle, but to call him a "friend" and come to his defense when you may know nothing about him is just as bad, from an information exchange perspective, as someone posting false rumors here. If you really don't know about somebody's character, you should not really step up for them (and again, I have made that mistake as well).

Again, I hope Boyd is fine. I hope he is well. I hope things at HLH go well, and hope Boyd is part of its future.

Mostly, I hope as the story comes out this does not become another one of those topics "we don't talk about." It is relavent to the purpose of the board- to share info about the scene that contributes to our experiences.

For historical purposes, here's what Dunn Inn wrote to the CRT board which was published on the CRT Home Page at the time Boyd got fired from there. Old news except for guys that have started with the board after so as to provide some perspective to this odd situation with Boyd.

An Open Letter from the Hotel Dunn Inn Management!

We here at the Dunn Inn realize how angry and upset all the CRT members are with Boyd no longer being here at the Hotel Dunn Inn. It goes without saying that a strong following has been created do to his hard work and we acknowledge that. As Tomas has stated things change in business, decisions are made management changes happen all the time some for the better some for worse. Each of you will have to evaluate what is best for yourselves with regards to your patronage of our establishment.

We certainly have open arms towards all of our guests especially the VIP's of CRT, and we feel our new marketing director & CRT Liaison Guy Grand will make each of you feel at home. Boyd can't be replaced but we certainly believe that Guy will do a great job insuring that all of your needs are met as guests of the hotel, casino, restaurant or lounge. We honestly hope you give us a chance to show you how much we value your you as clients of the Hotel Dunn Hotel & Casino.

I just got back from HLH. I was setting drinking a Imperial Light and eating a meatball sub. I over heard two Guys say that Boyd has a try out with WWE. One said that Boyd will tag up with the Big Show. Two other Guys said that Boyd was going to be in a commerical. I think they said it was the commerical that is for JUST FOR Men facial hair coloring. One Guy said it was the one with that Baby with a goatee in the tux. Now I am thinking that baby does look like Boyd driving the sports car.

I went down stairs and I heard another Guy say Boyd is working on getting a Five Guys to open in the Gulch. One Guy said Boyd is in Hollywood and has a bit part on Charlie Sheens new show Anger Management as the Zany next door neighbor.

I did talk to a the Guy who shines shoes out side the Rey. He said Boyd was taking over the KL and turing it into a Tranny Bar. :D

Good if it has re-opened. The meatball sub is great.
