YO CR mongers:

My best times with women in various parts of the world were in the 70's and 80's. My favorites were in Mexico and Costa Rica...although the Aussie ladies were awesome. I drank, smoked, gambled, tasted the herb and partied like hell. Mr. pecker introduced me to a number of ladies. Strange...but it seems like only yesterday. Now, today...I feel like an old fart. The one that when I was young... I snickered about when I saw him with young ladies 30 to 40 years his junior.

When you pass fifty years of age... it brings out the actor from inside.

You young guys 50's years and below, especially thirties and forties can feel rejuvenated and rightly so…..you still got an adequate supply of bullets left in that pee shooter Actually up until about 5 years ago I had a good bit more spring in my step while in CR but my life long habit of non stop party time has finally taken it’s toll. For us older fellows, our egos are inflated when a 20 something year old chica sits in our laps and strokes what’s left of the family jewels. Although it is strictly a dinero induced and a blind reality sensation....it brings out what is left in our male egos. But one thing for damn sure... it’s a hell of a lot better that being around bad attitude gringas.

I firmly believe that when most of us step off that plane in a foreign land we take on a new identity....regardless of age. Yes, portions of our regular self are still intact and surprisingly, not all, a number of us metamorphose into a younger more daring dude with soldier of fortune aspirations. All of us have at least a partial identity change. There is a little actor in just about everyone and geezzzz... have I played my share of rolls. Amazing how we even rationalize the dinero we blow and how we rave about things we would readily discount back in the states....especially when it comes to food and drink To use an old term, “We are like K*ds in a candy store.”

Is it not humorous how we convince ourselves into thinking just about all of these women want us. forgetting that sometimes shy person we were is still back in the states while this new form I’ve taken on must be a result of the “Body Snatchers.” Damn…..now I’m a hunk and wolf stud. This actor business is fun. Too bad it's a south of the border performance.

After fifty, we are certainly more hesitant to go alone along the "walk of shame" in SJ. Or, venture close to the darkened streets around the gulch. Yet...many of us still do thinking we can run like OJ through airports...yeah, right. But we are actors and feel that we can play that part we did from our early years.

Finally, our long weekend or week stay is over.

Then we board the return flight and our worn out body sinks into the crevices of the seat. Ever notice how it seems to be a lot more quiet on the return flight? As the plane lifts off we feel that part of us we had left at home... begins slowly breathing back into our bodies. As we go through our wallet we notice how the Franklins and Grants also changed identities and have become Lincolns and General George along with a couple of stow-away one thousand colones. Thoughts of tomorrow/ job and no house maid begin to creep into our minds. The toils and troubles of our gringo life again cloud our mind and emotions. We age almost a score of years and those minor aches we hid for several days begin to return.

As the sound of the landing gear hits the runway we quietly utter a small prayer that we made it back safely. As we taxi to the terminal we reflect on that identity we left in CR while beginning a new desire to become that person soon again. The last number of days we were on a stage and most of us were actors living the dream.

I'm going to miss that actor dude that I once knew.

The plane touching down and pulling into the terminal on your way home has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world. Knowing reality is going to smack you in the face as soon as you step off that plane.

Taken from Wikipedia: A circus is commonly a traveling company of performers that may include clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, hoopers, tightrope walkers, jugglers, unicyclist, and other stunt oriented artist. The word also describes the performance that they will give which is usually a series of acts choreographed to music and introduced by a ringmaster.

More of a tribute than definition for a person who brought the "circus" to CR and apparently to other ports of call. In our world of mongerville we all could find a place in a traveling circus, we know who the clowns might be, we claim to be gold medalist in acrobatic feats of sexual desire and depravities. Trained animals, Trapeze Acts, no problem we are the american gringo trained for optimum performance and swingers are becoming a new definition for swap meets.

Musicians, hell we all bang our meat to a different drummer and hoopers and tightrope walkers are found in places like the DR or in that Park behind the Key Largo. As for jugglers, unicyclist and other stunt oriented artist there is a place for every one of these circus performing wannabee’s.

But with all that has been said and what all has been done, there will never be another “Circus” member like the ringmaster named in honor of what he represents to us all which is a traveling road show with acts that play out every day and night in towns far and between. He brings smiles to the company that he keeps and has provided entertainment that has long enriched the memories of what was and still will be.

There is no curtain call that will ever keep a good ringmaster from his natural desire to please and I’m one to say I’m proud to have met and learned from our own CRT Circus VIP!

Circ, a great post, but believe me, you still have some juice for another trip to CR!. Just see Andy at Poas or J and B's bar. If he can do it, we can! They will have to carry my body away before I stop mongering.

AAAHHH let me think about it. You all love being here....and you hate returning to Gringoland. Lets see. If you can afford to be here NOW why not make the move. If your finances aren't ready for the move.....get them ready. I was fortunate enough to make the decision before the housing crash. However where there is a will there is a way.I've been living here for 9 years and have never once considered moving back. For my good friend Circus I say..... Either move here or just pop a few Vs and get back on the plane. There is always a room for you in my condo.

Senor Black, I will be an entertainer to the day I die. Whether it has been under the circus tent, off Broadway plays, dinner theaters, singing in a saloon or performing on the streets and parks of San Jose. That's just me. I'm fortunate to have found this site and it's predecessor to rail my crazy posts. I have always liked the satirical side of life no matter where it is. Actually, I have not taught you anything....you are the stud.

Senor Bob, since I can't find a decent steak, good tasting and cold milk, veggie buffets and grits...I can't live in CR. But I appreciate your invite. You are a good teacher/ host to new arrivals in SJ.

I am very fortunate to have met a number of so many interesting and talented gringos over the last decade plus. There is a bond among this group that transcends almost everything on the internet. A dialogue that although politically incorrect....services the true desires of the male practices/ ego. Yet, revealing the sad commentary of American gringas and their failure to just "get it."

Thanks to all of you, friends and acquaintances for letting me into your life. I hope that you enjoyed some of my crazy posts.
