The Colombian duena sold out to a retired priest who now has sold to the owner of Pappi's. Have no idea who Flori was. The Colombian duena last I knew still had her restaurant in the arcade that is between calle 5 y 7 and runs from ave central to ave segunda. Her place is very close to the ave 2 entrance.

Flori is the attractive woman who ran the restaurant for the Colombiana. I do remember the ex-priest. He showed up in either 2006 or 2007. Flori introduced me to him, and we chatted for a while. He told me he was there to make Flori's dream come true of owning the restaurant. When I came back, the place was renovated, and Flori was "la jefa." What you just said fits with the half I knew.

The cost was C 10,000 for guys and C 5,000 for dates, K*ds and seniors. The dinners included a complimentary glass of wine and dessert.


Order the pescado entero if they have it. Usually a lovely little pargo deep fried and juicy

Mariscar just down the block from El Presidente avenue central - local hangout in the gulch. really really good seafood.

I had a fresh double sauteed fish filet sandwich with all the topping and wonderful 9" sub roll. $4 at El Saborcito. 1 block up the hill from HLH. Really tasty

Another place I like is Harrys Poas bar . Good food at a good price. If you are a Chicago sports fan he has some good pictures also.

Also a good mix in the clientele...interesting folks to be met or ignored.

Thanks for the recommendation just finished a fantastic lunch at soda Peru very good and very cheap. Lunch for two was 7500 colones. Great sopa de mariscos too!

Maybe Cafe Mundo got hurt when the Health Department closed them for a while, maybe 18 months ago?
