I dont know how many of you guys make it out this direction (near Terra Mall) but this is my favorite spot in San Jose. Great fettucinis (huge orders and delicious - I would stick with the fettucinis as that is the best pasta they make - try fiorentino), pizzas, Antipasto italiano, focaccios are awesome.

The best dessert in town, the name escapes me but its like a pizza dough concoction with lava chocolate inside served with vanilla ice cream. Im not a big dessert eater but this is silly good. They also pour very stiff drunks tableside for half the price of Il Ritorino or L'Olive or the other good Italian spots. Great ambience also with an open kitchen and old school charm.

I am always the only gringo in this place and consequently get the best service (cause I tip). Always free shots of limoncello to end the night. Like I said in an earlier post, I like Il Ritorno (and use to be a big fan of Tres Scalini before it went sort of downhill), but this place blows away all others I have tried in CR for overall experience (food, drinks, service, value, ambience etc).

I will agree that the food there is very good for what I have had. Agreed the postres are excellent and I do always appreciate the limoncello after the meal. I used to date a girl who lives out in Pinares so we used to go every couple of weeks. It is a little out of the way from downtown, but I say it is worth it and they can handle large groups too. Good call mentioning this place bro.

I love trying out new restaurants that aren't on anyone's radar. Thanks, for the review.

I agree with all the positive comments!

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the entire country. I will go out of my way to eat at Andiamo'la when in the San Jose metropolitan area.

After living in Costa Rica for several years now I will hands down say it is my favorite food.

A close second place would be Gingerbread in the Arenal area.
