You can do both. The Alajuela Celebration is from 9AM to 1PM. You can take a bus back to SJO and have plenty of time to spend at the HLH. I went to this celebration 2 years ago and it was great! Lots of free food, 4 rock bands, free beer, thousands of ex-pats there and a great patriotic feeling!! Check it out!
