I am interested in joining or organizing an offshore fishing trip during my upcoming visit. Respond here or PM me if you have an interest. I am flexible.

I'll be there from May 27 to May 30, then going to Panama specifically for bass fishing in Gatun Lake. I don't do deep sea, but inshore is OK. We should talk. It's been a while since you and I have connected.

FYI and I fish semi-professionally, Lake Gatun is OK but you are not going to catch a giant #20 peacock just not gonna happen. Its largely fished out IMO and with the construction and rain this time of year water will be pea soup. But it is something to do.

There is far better fishing to be had in Panama inshore or offshore even out of Panama City you can fish and do well.

the way things usually work out with me is when i get to SJ, immediately check with the guides and captains i know and find out where the bite is. with that, the plan develops to go to the bite. therefore my statement about being flexible

i have fished several times in jaco with capt dana thomas, guanacaste with mucho gusto, and torteguero eddie brown for tarpon.

had alot of great times and most always caught fish over the past 6 years

respond or pm if you are interrested

Biggamefisherman, I used to fish there (Gatun Lake) a lot when I was stationed in Panama. Have gone beginning of June the last two years. We've been bringing in about 60 bass between the two of us in a half a day. You're right, they're not big, but it beats the crap out of bass fishing in the states. Regarding the water, once you get far enough away from the construction, it's crystal clear.

Sir Miguel, what kind of rig do you use at Lake Gatun? I remember kayaking there about 5 years ago and all I thought about was maybe there are piranha in those waters! LOL!
