I can appreciate the food and diet chatter because its def important, but understand if you really wanna do this you need to exercise. Then when ur done with that, exercise some more. You will see having more focus on getting in shape and your diet as a secondary thought (while remaining cognizant of it) will get you faster results. When you hardly exercise, food (has to) be in the forefront. :|

If you can commit to a legitimate work out to the 6 week mark, the results will be self motivating enough..

Do ur thing fellas, don't talk about it...be about it 8)

Losing weight, at least for me, is far from effortless. I tried South Beach and could not handle the side effect of waking up coughing up white feathers only to discover that eating that giant marshmellow was just a dream and half my pillow was gone...I felt like I was starving the whole time

Those recipes do sound good though, but right now I am having some good success with the Dukan (I'm never hungry on it but miss brussel sprouts) diet and, unfortunately, those foods are not allowed. Think if I do go off the Dukan wagon though those recipes would be a good way to do so without doing too much damage.

I agree, but I tell people to NOT weigh themselves if they go to the gym. You'll be gaining weight in muscle faster than you'll be dropping fat with the result of the scales not moving at all. For those that measure weight loss by the scale alone, this will be disheartening. Get a tape measure and measure your waist when you first wake up and have an empty belly. You will notice you will lose on the tape before you notice on the scale.

Also, I tell people to make a committment of GOING to the gym. It doesn't matter how much or how little you do, the goal is to make GOING to the gym a routine. Once you're there, the motivation will come. You can very easilly talk yourself out of exercising, so plan to go to the gym anyway. Read a magazine, watch the TV, whatever. If you still aren't motivated after an hour, THEN you can go home. Rarely do people who commit to going to the gym not exercise, but many are those who talk themselves out of just going. The routine is what keeps you working out.

Last weigh-in was 203. My goal was 200lbs by the time of my trip, but I don't think I will make it as it is only a few days away. I was planning a visit to HLH anyways to check the place out. Maybe I can weigh in there and make my results official - post work-out of course!

My all time highest weight was 235lbs. Now I can see some abs peaking out. I didn't know I still had them. Good to know.

You know, that's not a half-bad idea for BKTuna's weight loss challenge. Instead of "legs and eggs" he could have "abs and ass," where you get a full workout session with ab-sensation Sammy on your abs and as a reward you get "ass." In other words you get a "full-range" workout with benefits. (must consult with a physician prior to engaging any strenuous exercise regimen).

I think you're onto a new weight-loss idea and marketing program, San Te. Good thinking!

After fifteen days I am down 11 lbs.

I have stopped sodas completely, no mayo or fried foods. Not exercising as much as I would like. Drinking less and substituted whiskey on the rocks and guiness for rum and cokes.

On the Dukan here :) Put on ten pounds over three month period in France & Italy  French food not really a temptation but too many dinner invites :? Good Italian on the other hand would turn me into a Sumo wrestler if I were living there on a permanent basis  My GF also put on ten pounds, but she is very near to her ideal weight :D So we both have been back on Dukan since returning to the US and she loses weight steadily. I'm a big guy so expected to drop faster then her but, even though no Dukan deviations (sounds like some sort of sex act) I don't lose a pound  Then two nights ago were invited to a party and I fall off the Dukan wagon...two days later I drop three pound? Weight loss is weird :| .

Now that is one accurate quote. I still think for lunch though they need to add "thighs and fries" but do them in canola oil.....

down 4 lbs to 205 and feel great. eating well, fruits and proteins mostly. gave up all the white flour i could which is almost everything, no fast food and actually no alcohol. working on the sugar part, at least the refined stuff. thats tough for me but i have cut way back. getting under 200 would blow my mind but i can see it now.
