Always let holidays sneak up on me and forget what the closings are like on each particular one. Just went out on my morning walkabout and was gonna hit AutoMercado. Closed as I should have expected. But I don't see anything open. What do hotel guests around here do for food? Just curious, I keep enough stuff in the fridge to throw something together and get by, but would have thought some gringoish restaurants might be open.

Hotel restaurants remain open as they have guests to feed. Most restaurants not in a hotel close. Those that serve "gringo" food usually also have a bar and since they can not serve alcohol they close up.

Thought the SL was gonna be open, but the gate is closed. Maybe it is just easier to handle the hotel guests than to explain over and over why there is no alcohol. I used to laugh when I was sitting at the hotel in Jaco and watched my friends go into the dry law thing liek 20 times. Thinking this is a good excuse to clear out the fridge today.

There is more open this year than in previous years. Fast food places, all the hotel restaurants, some stores here and there. Not a problem to get food and places to hang out.

Once I saw AutoMercado was closed I headed back home. Didn't know about the fast food spots, but not really eating that kind of food these days. Living through my first rainy season in the city taught me to always have food around the house. Was a little lower than usual today, but have managed and think I have enough to make it til manana.

Auto Mercado frequently close their downtown store on holidays but the other AM stores are open. Best bet downtown is Mas x Menos they are most likely open today.

No go on the Mas x Menos downtown, but it was a good reason to get out and stretch the legs. Wow, this is actually more shut down than Christmas. Just one day, so no worries, just snuck up on me how dead it would be.

We actually have four of our hotter girls here, suprised the hell out of me. Open until 10
