All set for atlanta to San Jose for 3/15-3/18 and just ordered my CRT card! Got some great feedback from some folks on here. Any suggestions for hotel? I have read the forum and have some ideas, looking for spot to link up with good wingman. I am hitting SJO solo and a newbie to SJO (I have been to Jaco)

Thanks also to bigwavedave with the suggestion for that weekend.

HLH and SL are the best, IMHO. I'll go with Boyd and HLH every time. HLH is very popular with CRT guys in the afternoon.

Complete Newbie here....I will be making my first trip to CR March 14th-20th and going solo too. On my buddy's recommendation, staying at the SL the whole time and plan on watching the games there. Hopefully there will some more experienced CRTers there also.

I definitely plan on making a trip (or several) the to the HLH. Too many good things posted here to not stop in and meet Boyd and friends.

Can't go wrong at either place. You will find lots of willing wingmen at both places. The only other place I'd rather be that 1st weekend of the NCAA's is Vegas Baby!!

I may be there as well. I'm having passport issues. If I go I'll pm you Bill. Trust me with me as a wingman no chica will be safe.

I could be there the 15th thru the 19th, havent confirmed yet but it looks likely. I think ChiliMike will be there too if you want a "Wild wingman". LOL
SL, HLH or in my opinion Hotel Amistad are all great choices. SL for independent chicas and games, Bill is an incredible host and you'll meet alot of CRT vets throughout the day. Tough to get a room here without alot of advance notice.
HLH is the new and popular place on the hotel scene with discounted chicas for hotel patrons and a lively happy hour bar scene and with a host like Boyd who goes out of his way to make you comfortable, there have been only good reviews here.
Amistad gives you a great hotel, clean and comfortable beds with an awsome staff, fantastic breakfast and a quiet bar/resturant scene that is only a 2 min walk to SL. There is no chica fee, free international calls and wifi along with free laundry service included. You cant go wrong with any of these places.
If I go, I will be visiting daily both SL and HLH. PM me if you have any questions as i'm a 15 year CR vet traveling down there 3-5 times a year and always enjoy sharing information with new guys.

Pura Vida,

Jac

Bill & Field -

I highly recommend HLH, just returned from a trip two weeks ago. I can't say enough about the rooms, food, cigars and...oh yeah, the girls!!! :D :D :D :D

I envy you guys...always better to be on you way to CR than just returning from CR!

I've stayed at the Rey, HLH, (pre-Boyd), and the SL. The HLH was nice, quiet, and has the coolest room designs (the full pane window for tica shower viewing). However, last time I was there they charged a tica fee if you bring a girl to your room from the outside. I'm not sure if this is still charged. I am partial to the SL. Great staff and nice facility also, full bar and no guest fee. I would only recommend the Rey if you really like convenience and do not mind paying more than needed for it......I can't wait until May :P

ps. If you book a room at SL and get the courtyard wing, be advised you will be directly next to the bar, so you will have some noise to contend with.
