The Sabana estadio bus which starts on avenida segunda directly across from the Gran Hotel Costa Rica and the National Theater loops around Sabana Park. It goes westbound on the north side and eastbound on the south side. There is a bus stop in front of ICE building which is a short walk to Cristinas. Fare is 165 colones.

I have stayed at Hotel Cristina a couple of times. Yes, they do allow guests and they do not charge. If you wanted to walk to the Gulch, it would take about 30 minutes. I would only do that in the day time. Taxi would be about $5. They have very nice rooms with a full kitchen and provide a delicious breakfast. I stay there now on most of my trips. I prefer staying there than in the Gulch hotels.

Ok, I know where that building is. I actually pass by it when taking my bus to Pavas. Love that park over there. Gonna start doing some running there on weekends.
