I had a meeting at work today and I casually mentioned my upcoming vacation to CR... after the meeting, this older guy pulls me aside in the hallway and with a shit eating grin on his face he proceeds to tell me how beautiful the women in CR are and how he has been there 14 times over the years to "play". Ha! I never would have guessed it.

Anyone else ever accidentally run across any fellow mongers in everyday life?

We should develop a gang sign or a code word.

i was sitting at a blackjack table in south florida and this guy sits down i say hello look at his hat and it says blue marlin bar costa rica..... small world huh?

Many times in conversations, my travel to C.R. comes up, usually one of the men will give me a big smile. Then we do the secret handshake.

Some guy got mouthy with my in Columbia South Carolina once over the fact he was taking my seat at the bar. He was trying to impress his wife and her friend. Dumbass was wearing a Blue Marlin Bar T-shirt..... I politely said, "the fishing is good in the Del Rey isn't it?" After that he stopped me in the bathroom to try to talk about CR with me. I told him it was better he not think about the rey while he was sitting with his wife and I went about my bidness....

Doucheboy did not know the handshake......

What surprises me even more are all the poor bastards who have been and don't have a clue how much all round fun can be had or when you tell somebody you go and they say something like I hear CR is really nice. I always say the beaches are great and the fishing is good all the while grinnning on the inside.

I go for the tree frogs and the toucans... Am i missing something?

I've met 4 guys in passing, through work or just socializing, who were veterans of the gulch. Two were "frequent flyers"... but none of them knew about CRT.

I split a cab with a guy in Vegas and we started talking about how much the girls in charge there. I told him that I could get ten women in CR for the price they charge. He then asked me if I stayed at the DR and we shared our experiences.

The best part is the cab driver was listening to our conversation and asked us for the details on the DR.

Seen the Blue Marlin shirt once or twice. I gave the code - "Ahh, I loved fishing at lake del rey. They were always biting." This, followed by the knowing nod.

My director at my old job. Before leaving for Thailand for my second trip there, I was hangin' with a bunch of co-workers outside, He approached to say hello to us and make small talk. I mention that I was soon to be traveling to Asia. I always phrase it that way to leave it generic and let's face it, most American folk have no idea what countries exist anyway, much less what continents (sad, but true). He responded to me that he's been to Pattaya. I grinned, shook his hand, and we walked aside from the crowd and compared notes for 20 or so minutes.

Up to that I point, I thought was was an a-hole ... and he probably didn't even take note of me, the most junior guy on his tech team. But from that point onward, we always knew we were on the same page and got along grandly.
