Since I once flew on Spirit and hopefully not again , they always send me E-mail ads. I usually see it's from them and delete it.

But this time they got me. The headline said "Get even Mo Moass for $9 each way." Since I'm always looking for moass I opened it. Of course it was too good to be true. It turns out Moass stands for Mother of all Spirit Sales. But they must know they are dealing with guys with minds like me.

Why don't you "unsubscribe" from their e-mailings ???

Spirit sucks. I have to use them because I live in FLL but they have gotten so bad over the last few years. I used to be able to use my points to get free flights whenever I wanted to travel, now they have thier "free" flight dates blocked so much that it is impossible to use your points. A big scam.

While I don't hate Spirit the way many on this board do, I have miles I'd like to use too - good luck - you start with having to book 90 days out to get the most use out of them (ie avoid paying for what most assumed were "free" seats), and it goes down from there  . Lets just say they don't make it easy to "get" anything from them     :P

Like you, I'm in S. FL and I'll always check with Spirit (no way would I consider flying them if I had to change planes - never!) - but I add $100 to their fares to cover the BS fees - luggage, seat selection, et al - sometimes they are cheap, other times not so much - you have to check, and often w/ the fees added, AA is cheaper MIA to SJO.

I really hate their business model - and while so far it looks to be working for them (Spirt is profitable when few others are) - my experience in the business world tells me you cannot base a sucessful business - long term - on being the cheapest and commoditizing what you do for a living.

Because although I don't want to use them again I am always thinking "just in case".

I assume everyone realizes that this post was meant to be nothing more than a joke. But I do hate Spirit.
I would use them only as a last resort.

The boys at Spirit are at it again. They just sent me an ad that said, "Trips for less booty starting at $9 each way". Of course I would rather have moass than less booty. But with the terminology that they use I wonder if they know who they are targeting.

Of course they know who you are. A guy buying a single ticket to Costa Rica a few times a year - not to hard to figure out. They probably categorize their passengers. Every male that buys a single ticket once or more a year to San Jose receives the email blast for the "moass less booty."

You DO realize that to a "normal" person, booty refers to treasure, as in "pirates booty" and NOT poontang, right ?

So to a "normal" person that reads "Trips for less $$$". 8)

Scuba1,

Do you have the Spirit Mastercard ? With the Mastercard there are periods of time (granted not too many of them) that are "Off peak" and only cost 2500 miles each way. The "Off peak" is ONLY available to MC holders.

Pisses me off that the next award is FOUR TIMES that, 10,000 miles each way.

I forget the schedule of fees because I only got a "free" ticket one time so far but I believe that for booking 21 or more days in advance the fee is only $15 but maybe that may also only be for MC holders.
