Seabreeze, what about that new manager Gomez. Have you gotten a warm and fuzzy from him like we all got from Boyd back in the day and Guy Grand? I sure the hell didnt the last time I was there in Thanksgiving!

Zunbake I have not spoken to him personally. But nobody can replace Boyd!! I still chat with Guy primarily. I know a lot of the people on staff there and I asked them about him. All indicated they really like him. He comes from a high end hotel in Houston. They don't plan to replace Scott.

Guy showed me the new VIP room (by the banos at Rick's) and it should be nice. Not very big though.

Best part of DI is that I can walk a block to have a stogie with Wiseash at HLH and see Boyd and his girls :P

Seabreeze, did they restart Live Bands again at Rick's Cafe? The last time I was there during Thanksgiving Magda told me some guests had complained about the previous Band Moby Dick so they discontinued live music at that time. Did you talk to Guy about why Scottie V left? Thanks for the intel.

No bands during my last 2 visits and the last band I saw was a jazz trio. I went through 2 appearances by Moby Dick, a solid band, but they overwhelmed the place. No room was quite. I have a feeling they won't go that route again, but that is only a guess.

Scott posted on this board he left on his own. Maybe that is true, maybe he was being diplomatic? No idea why on this end.

Seabreeze-I think the general consensus was that Scottie V was not meeting his work requirements, but that is just hearsay. I think the DI has been struggling with its identity for quite some time, hopefully they will find a strong niche in the market. Its always good for us to have as many choices in Barrio Amon as possible. Regarding the few hours Moby Dick played perhaps upsetting some of the guests, I think that at a hotel guests can expect special events that maybe noisy as long as it does not go late in the night. Moby Dick was finished by 9PM which is reasonable in my opinion. Also the mostly Tico crowd in the cafe really enjoyed themselves including the gringos. Hell, Scottie and Guy let me sing a couple of songs with them and everyone had a laughing good time!

I like the new manager at the Dunn Inn. He had a good personality and I believe has a lot to bring to the hotel. I am always greeted and enjoy talking to him. He makes me feel welcomed.

Maybe it was YOU, not the band, that was bothering me

I think DI is doing fine. They are always packed, at least when I've been there.

Damn Seabreeze, I thought you were a fan! Oh well, I'll find one somewhere. At least I have my chica groupies at the HDR etc! The main thing is you like the place then you should keep going. They have lost my business for the reasons I have stated and I am moving on.

One of the members in this thread likes the new Manager Gomes. Anyone else have an opinion? The DI lost my long time business because of him and I just wonder if this is a miscalculation on my part about this individual.

Z- As I mentioned previously in this thread, I have not spoken with him personally.

But maybe when you met him he was overwhelmed with the move, transition to CR, new job etc and wasn't feeling very sociable. For all I know he may be a d*ck, but I've heard nothing but good things about him.

My 2 cents 8)

If you have some bad shit about the dude, let someone know, or make it known
I think you are fishing for bait
If you want to know call up the Dunn Inn 2222 2323 and ask

Why do I answer a post like this... the Dunn Inn is not what it was pre Boyd
It was muy tranquilo
