That said, I'm glad the people behind the American version didn't change the setting to America (as they did with Insomnia, another Nordic-noir picture), or bowdlerize it too much, as often happens with European independent films that get re-made in America.
I'd discuss it at greater length but I'm not sure of everybody's tolerance for plot spoilers.
I tend to agree that the original was better. Being in the original language seemed to covey the drama. But that said the American one now in theaters is extremely well made and if they complete the triology I will definately see them. Both Lisbeths were very good but until the last two chapters are shot my jury has to be out to recess
