I am very experienced in PI, LOS and Mexico. Never been to CR but planning a trip this spring. Before you rail on me for the following idea and questions, please consider I may not have the same priorities as all members here.

I have read all I can about HLH, SL etc. I'm sure I will be partying there almost every night. I will generally find the right Chica after a lot of prequalification and I will do deals for LT/TLN/All nite. So that being said....

Is there anything wrong with my staying further away at hotels such as the Intercontinental? I want a First class Five Star Hotel and it doesn't seem like any of the ones frequently listed here fit the bill. Exactly how far away are the really nice hotels from where all the action is?

Will I have any problem whatsoever taking new guests every night in and out of the lobby? At first class places in all the countries mentioned above I have never once been questioned because they can never assume a girl is working and not simply my GF. I'm not concerned with cost so does anybody else employ this strategy as opposed to staying in the heart of the action? I couldn't be the only guy who does it this way??

Also, what will the Chicas reaction to these better Hotels be? I find it's usually beneficial to get them away from their normal comfort zone. I make it clear that they are going to be treated well as long as they behave. It usually intimidates them because it isn't part of the same script they are used to hearing time and again. It's kind of like the "Pretty Woman" thing. Treat a whore like a queen and a queen like a whore... whatever! 8)

This works wonders for me everywhere else but I don't pretend to know CR.

Any opinions and references to the top hotels and whether this idea makes sense? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Plat, it does make sense if that is your bag. Most of us like the convenience of the gulch monger hotels. I don't know about the Intercontinental specifically, but many of the hotels that are a bit upscale like the Presidente and even the Holiday Inn and the Sleep Inn discourage chicas with high chica fees or outright banning chica guests. You may have better luck, though. Any chica would love to go to a high class hotel, but you may have a hard time getting her to leave. I trust you have have honed those skills, though.

Do not count on getting your chica in certain hotels. I have had decently dressed chicas turned down to even be in the public patio areas to have a drink. I am amazed the way they discriminate. I would not make long term stay reservations. Play it day by day.

Most chicas don't care where you are staying. They don't mind going to Motel Asia (roach-infested) or a 5-star hotel. They are not there to enjoy the atmosphere. For most of them, they won't be impressed and it won't make any difference. They will just expect to be paid more.

The second thing is that these hotels are relatively far away from the action, especially in SJ traffic. Like you said, they will be out of their comfort zone, and may not be willing to go there, especially if they're new. A hardcore pro will go anywhere (and will charge accordingly).

As far as getting them into hotels, don't count on it. Ask the hotel what their "guest" policy is. Be straight with them, "can I bring female comanions to my room"? I'll repeat what another poster said, it's amazing how they discriminate there. Any chica that enters a hotel can be assumed to be a prostitute and be denied entry without any recourse.

Where do they have 5-star hotels in Mexico?

I would just say, take chicas that fit in with a 5 star hotel. Don't take the little gutter snipes. They won't fit in there and will probably try to grab anything not nailed down. Find the right chica that looks like she could be your girlfriend. I personally don't go for the whore look. I always appreciate the girls that look sexy but are wearing clothing that makes you comfortable taking them anywhere. The whore uniform just doesn't do it for me. So, think ahead of time when choosing a chica to take back. Does she look like she would fit in at the hotel where you are going? :D

Certainly, Cabo and Puerto Vallarta and Cancun and Ixtapa have 5-star hotels. What they lack is cheap putas in close proximity to those 5-star hotels.

I wrote this a few months ago and all three of the hotels I mention are well above the 3.5 to 5+ grade, With Xandari being far and away the best. Martino is my next choice at a weak 4. Orchiadias is very nice as well but in a different way. Much more laid back and a smaller place. they have a nice suite on top of the hill (a 4) that I have enjoyed. The balance of the rooms are 3.5 or less. They have all allowed Guests on a nightly baisis at no extra fee (or at least I was not charged any fees) But as others have mentioned I select a friend who looks like she belongs, as best as possible.

The bad news is they are all a 30-40 minute taxi ride from the Del Rey or Sportsmans. They are out by the airport or 5 to 10 further depending.

I appreciate all the responses here although they are a reality check for me. I cannot frigging believe it is so arduous to simply take a hot girl into a $250/night hotel room. That sucks.

I will have to do exactly as suggested and clarify everything before the reservation. I also never realized those hotels are so damn far away. It's one thing to take a 10 minute taxi ride to a 5 star hotel but 30 minutes sucks.

I'm not giving up yet but thanks to those who explained that CR is far different in what they will permit.

BTW, even in the ghetto that is Tijuana, Mexico there are almost "4 star" hotels such as the Grand, Pueblo Amigo, Camino Real, that at least get me away from the center of whoredom. IT is true however that the only 5 star Hotels in MX are in vacation resort cities.

I am going to check out the Radisson in San Jose based on a referal. Any thoughts about that? Are they chica friendly? How far from SL, HLH etc. is it in a taxi?

Platinum: I hear ya re this theme. One trick that works almost anywhere, even high end hotels, is to tell the hotel you are to be joined later be your young fiancé. That adds the extra head count up front and gets most any girl in the door.

So many Latinas, so little time...

Absolutely right Bone. You are preaching to the choir. I have a patent on that young Fiance line so don't steal it from me!

The only problem is when they see a variety of 10-12 "young fiances" over a one week period they occasionally become suspiscious.

I'm not giving up though. I think I can get lost in the shuffle of the Radisson or Intercontinental.

Take a look at the Cariari Hotel. It is 5 star (Heads of States have stayed there)..it's not terribly far from the gulch and as long as your date doesn't dress or look like a hooker you should be fine getting her in. I have.

When I first went there (several years ago) it was The Melia Cariari. I believe now it is the Doubletree Cariari.

Cariari is a good 20-30 minutes to ground zero by cab, depending on traffic.

The SJ Radisson is not near 5 star, and if I am thinking correctly, was dissed by a lot of posters. Use the search feature and I'm pretty sure I am right.

I think the San Jose Palacio (15-20 mins off peak) gives you the closest you are going to get to that 5 star feel without going alot further, but I am sure you are going to have a chica problem.

Alot of guys do 2 places, have a play room in the gulch. The further away from the gulch you go, often the less desirable it is for the worker. She is thinking about how long it is going to take to get back to work, unless you are taking her toda la noche.

I agree they are not going to impressed with the 5 star other than thinking bigger tipper. Most of them will go around the corner to a short time dump and still work the way they would at the Marriot which probably is 5 stars.

Excellent suggestion. Thank you. I'm booking this.

5 star I'm not sure. However I like to stay a little more upscale too. In SJO I've stayed at the Corobici Crown Plaza which I really liked. Now the members will say that it's impossible to bring chicas to this place, but I did it several times without any problems. As long as they dress more like your GF your can do it. No silicone sisters. I've also stayed at the Aurola several times and only a few times paid the extra fee. However what I read now with the $75 fee (at the Aurola) wouldn't risk this anymore. I'm considering the Courtyard San Jose Escazu for my next trip. It's a little far from the action but it's in a more relaxing neighborhood. Usually Marriott hotels don't get into your business. One possibility is Los Suenos but it's a trip to the coast. I stayed there for a few days with a nica and it was a pretty good time. They're usually game for Los Suenos, "muy romantico" or so I'm told.
