I am talking about my international charge from my bank. Any time it is more, I am using a machine that is not hooked to a bank...... Of course the machine says 900 colones when you are doing your biz. I think it is your credit union thing......Cuz another guy told me the same thing......

Advice on the money....do not, I repeat do not exchange your currency in the airports currency exchange. The exchange rate will cost you about 15-20%. Take whatever America money you need. I just flew back from a short visit to the states and had over 9k with me, with no problems. Pay your taxi with america money. Pay for your meals with American Dollars and get colones back as change. All the major Super Markets and Walmarts takes dollars and will give you back colones at a fair exchange rate. So you can go into a Mas X Menos, buy a coke, give the cashier $20 and get 10,000 colones back in change. Use an Atm machine that has a locked door not open where everyone can see you. I really don't like the Rey ATM's because the girls see you take money out and start hitting on you real hard. I have never had a problem with an atm machine here, just that they all turn off at 10 pm and you wont be able to get money out until the next morning.

Take plenty of photos but hide your camera or Iphone, the putas love em.
Never pay more that $100 for a chica.
