Just curious, how does that work out for the Sleep Inn? Are they a busy place. I can see the Presidente because it is a little ways from the DR. But the Sleep Inn is in the middle of whore central. Would think your average eco-tourist might not frequent the area because of the proximity of the DR and KL.
I've stayed there app 15 times, never crowded, hard to say how full, but if the free breakfast area is any indicator, there are probably 20 or so tables and I've never seen them more than half full, never waited long for one of the two elevators, or for a bell boy or for help at the front desk. I've seen alot of people there obviously not there for the action, alot of older Euro's, a soccer team from Italy. Never had a problem getting a reservation but I usually plan way ahead.
It's part of the Choice Hotels chain, one of eleven, all pretty well known in the US, (probably why they don't want the girls). Very aggressive marketing, alot of good discount programs often, eg stay 2 times next 2 months , next one free.
It's at ground zero for sure, but the outdoor complex is huge, borders three streets, so you kind of feel oblivious that you are downtown. New construction/windows so you don't get the traffic noise, at least not 3rd floor south, nor from the hallways. That's the thing that keeps me coming back. Gated off at both entrances with 24 hour security.
I'm sure one of the guest has wandered into the DR and wondered, but at lunch or dinner, you really wouldn't get the DR vibes at the eating area in the adjacent Colonial or KL. Nice place.
