I'll be arriving tomorrow night (Nov 19) and staying @ the SL until Nov 24. I am 54, 5-6 with south Asian looks. Very often mistaken for a tico but do not speak a word of spanish. Well here is the extent of my language:

just realized that is pitiful, given that I have been coming to San Jose since they days of Key Largo, BBC and Jay Trettien (bless his soul).
When people notice that I am unable to communicate, they resort to the sign language or whatever English they can speak. Most start with me in Spanish, even though 35 years in USA, I still can't be mistaken for a gringo.(even though technically I am)
