There is a stock currently available on the NASDAQ with the symbol CIEN.It is currently selling at $1.93. Now there is a quote of cien that I can handle. I have no knowledge of the past performance levels, service,or analysts recomendations for this offering but at that price for a cien chica, how can it be bad. This is not an offering from me for sales nor does this analyst,or any family members, hold any "positions" in this stock.

Back in the go-go days of the late 90's this stock was a high flyer. I have first hand knowledge of this stock as I have owned it on several different occasions. It is currently in a sector that has been beaten up and bloodied. Glad to have bailed when I did. Now the only CIEN I deal with is the one with Ben Franklins face plastered on the front.

This deal was priced as an IPO in 1997 at $23.00. It peaked on 10/20/00 @ $149.50 and today....well......it trades at a whopping $1.95. Or, to look at it in a different perspective.....today you would need about 20 shares of CIEN for one session at ZB whereas in October of 2000 1 share of CIEN would have got you almost 4 sessions at ZB.

My recommendation, as always, is:

NO CIEN!

Cienna - Some guys I worked with went to work there about 8 years ago. They had stock options, did the company friends and family buys, and they took stock in lieu of bonuse, etc.

In 2000 they were bragging about how their stocks and options were worth millions and how we were so dumb for staying where we were. Well only 1 out of 4 sold out before the dive and the layoffs. All 4 were laid off in 2002.
