No you just get it from the canadien rednecks on the breakfast patio at 630 am in the morning

Only authentic rednecks spell Canadian with an "E".

my god you are smart

Well, if you are going to paint such broad stereotypes, maybe you should at least use a spell checker. Otherwise people might think you are just an ignorant amaracan.

Both great. Castillo staff Maria, Patricia, Danny, and Manager Darren really are the best. Camaraderie if you desire (really make you feel like family) and space to do your thing unimpeded if that's what you desire. Also a bit closer to all the action if you like to stroll. HLH 3 blocks away, New Fantasy 3 doors away, less that 2 blocks to the Sportsmen's and less than 5 min. walk to HDH/Delrey Blue Marlin. Amistad slightly further away (Just a few blocks though) to all but the Sportmen's

I refuse to stay at a place named Dunn Inn. Sounds like its not gonna be a good trip from the get go. Perhaps, you're gonna get Dunn Inn your booty or Dunn Inn your life or just Dunn Inn period. I'll pass; Amistad is where I will ALWAYS go; Hotel Del Ray is nothing but a brothel; the rooms, well, you could probably catch something in them! As for Castillo just doesn't look like a place I would be interested in staying at.

This is all good to hear. I just reserved the penthouse at Amistad for 3-12 Dec. Stayed at the Dunn in late Sept for a week. Dunn staff and people are great, but the facilites are so-so at best (IMO). Plus, last trip I only went to the DR twice at night and only took one from there. The rest of the time I was hunting at SL, so seems like Amistad is best for that location. Of course a few sessions at HLH are a must too but that is daytime activity...haha.

Are they usually full? Just curious if they ever discount a monthly rate. I should add a suite would be necessary.

Thanks

Dave

Dave, if that question is for me, I am not quite sure. I know for the dates I am looking at all they had was queen and penthouse, but with the CRT discount I was able to justify the penthouse (the same as I will manage to justify many other items of self-indulgence while I'm there...haha). I would imagine it is like any of the other hotels - seasonal dependent. I'm sure some of the CR Vets can chime in with some actual value here.............

Some places are cheaper if you pay cash up front.

Hey Bro
It was for anyone, I love the penthouse at the SL but my next trip will be scouting to see if I may want to live there. I should do an apartment but still want the hotel amenities but if I retire I need cheaper so probably no more Penthouses for a week LOL

Just rambling on I guess I am so unsure of what will happen I am all over the place on what to do. I do know I won't have money to throw around in a wasting manner. Now my SL Penthouse was never a waste (far from it was a blast) because it was a vacation whole different set of circumstances. On a fixed income trying to not dig into principle since I'm only 51 is important to me so I won't do a cardboard box but will need to get value. If I remember well I think the deluxe with kitchenette was more to my liking than the suite anyway at the Castillo.

Man it's rough not knowing what to do LOL

Thanks for letting me ramble.

Dave

Right the phuck on man. I'm in the same boat - as in thinking about living there for 6-12 months, but will likely do the apartment route up near Escazu. Same deal, I want to take a few more trips and talk to some guys that have lived there for a bit. Seems like one can score a decent furnished place with security and housekeeping for a grand a month on the apartment route. Retired at 51? Nice!! I'm 38 and only 'semi-retired' you could say, but I trade stocks/options for a living so internet connection is a crucial aspect of me making the move. Anyway, this next trip of 9 days I am going to allocate some time for surveying the area outside of the gulch and hopefully talking to some smart guys that know the ropes. Laters......

Sounds like a good plan for the future but won't you need a car if you are in the Escazu area?
