Thinking about a trip sometime in the Nov 19-Dec 15 timeframe

[first post, please be gentle :) ]

Thinking about a trip down to CR in the Nov 19-Dec 15 timeframe. My question is, is there any time in that timeframe that would be best? Or best avoided? I know it gets quiet around Christmas time, so I would go before then.

But are there any CR holidays in that timeframe that tend to shut things down? Or is any time during that time Ok? What would the weather be like? (in general)

Thanks in advance!

TD

Thanks Tinman! No I have not booked my room yet, but I am pretty familiar with the hotel situation (I've actually been reading here for a long time). I'm thinking Sportsmen's or HLH. I will be sure to get in touch with Pops too. Any other thoughts or advice welcome.

Thanks again!

Regarding the weather you can expect rain especially in the evening. Should stop after a while though.
Keep an umbrella. Keep it in your suitcase. If it is in your carry on they will confiscate it when you are returning.

The rain is probably gonna be terrible when you come. October and November are the worst months of the year for rain, but that should not stop you from having plenty of indoor activities.....Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Probably see you around....

Thanks guys! I am actually on the road now (in the US) but I couldn't wait to see the feedback. I really appreciate it! Please keep it coming (as appropriate 8)). I will definitely let everyone know when my plans firm up, and will post in roll call when the time comes. I am looking forward to my first trip and hopefully meeting some of you (and taking in some of the nightlife  ).

Cheers,

TD

Have booked the flight for Dec 11-16!

And I did email Pops, hopefully he will reply to me soon. I could not find his contact here on the board even though I searched. Any help on that front would be appreciated!

I will look into the Sportsmen's tonight; if they don't have a room, I will try HLH.

Thanks again for everybody's help!

His username on the board is Pops. Just send him a private message.

Oh, I am very sorry to hear that. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I have sent an initial email to SL, hopefully they will reply soon.

I would guess that there are some other options should he still be recovering when I get down there? Any thoughts appreciated.

Also, I do have my VIP card, it looks like there is no ID number, just my moniker from here on the boards. Is that enough info for them (SL), to get the discount?

I do hope Pops gets better soon!

Thanks again to everybody.

These dates will be better when it comes to weather. The summer starts around that time so hopefully you will get lucky and not catch the end of the rain....
