Mike its prolly time to stop the "everybody" jus hates the DR..

For as much as that place isa shit hole, and an easy place for chicas to pick up mongers (er, not the other way around) you defend it like its the only place you can get laid. We collectively get it, you like to stay at the DR which is fine but the gringo elevator fee's are the least of the worries. For as ok as it is for you to love it, its equally ok most don't.. That jus means more chicas for you

I have never stayed at the DR so not a hater. That being said, I wouldn't stay there if the rooms were 5 star due to the fact its impossible to just have a quiet drink without the sharks swarming. It used to be that they would figure out who wanted company and who didn't, not the case anymore. It wouldn't be so bad but its the same fuglies and fatties that have been there every since my first trip in 2005. Needless to say they have not grown more beautiful with age.

The Del Rey is what it is--the Grand Central Station of hookers in Central America, if not Latin America, essentially a giant whorehouse, a comforting cocoon offering "one stop shopping". As such it holds enormous appeal for newbie and veteran mongers alike, especially those with plenty of money and just want poosie no matter the costs. On my first trips to CR, starting in July '05, I stayed at the HDR. Aside from a one-time road trip to Toronto, I hadn't been outside the USA, and my only P4P experience was with some Nevada brothels. I had learned about CR and the Presidente from someone on another forum, and when I came to CRT I also learned about the SL. In the end though I ended up at the HDR like so many others. In retrospect I should I have stayed at the Presidente (it was still monger-friendly back then), and in fact did so after my first few CR trips.

Now I think of the HDR as a zoo, keeping all the "animals" safely locked up away from me.

I stayed at HDR for two nights during my first trip to CR. Even though that was my first (and only) time as a registered guest at the Del Rey, I wouldn't change a thing. It was a short, but very interesting, trip!

Am i defending the del rey or just stating facts?
When i see the DR at least mentioned when someone asks where to stay then i might stop.
I also get that you and others love the sportsmans.Others like and stay at other venues thats also great.
Now i know the sportsmans has no negatives like NO noisy rooms,i'm sure they have 24/7 food/bev.=or maybe they do have some noisy rooms and no 24/7 food/bev
People who ask the question shoukd be given all the options if your not haters your jaded.
i'm not sure i can get laid in the shithole DR-i know i cant if your there cause your a chic magnet and they all want you free of charge.

Well you don't get to state facts while others are cheerleading then. If others don't mention the DR as a place to stay it's not my fault, er maybe it's jus the DR.
If you noticed nothing was mentioned by me about the sportsmen so not really sure what point your laboring to make. Of course this in itself can be your stage to push the DR on ppl while dogging the lodge at the same time who knows. Just understand its also see-thru..

As far as ur lame attempt to say you can't pick up chicas, also not my fault...go to the DR, there's a ton of chicas looking for guys who can't get laid anywhere else..

I did not stay at Del Rey my first trip.... but looking back, it might have been a good place to stay... It was the only place I went to

but the del rey is a shithole .....why should i go there?
I never mention the DR as the only place to stay but its funny to me that many posters never mention it except to say dont stay there
I accept that you are the all knowing cujo and that nobody elses opinion matters
I really hope i can get laid on my next trip so then maybe i can hate the del rey to.
all hotels will have some faults sportsmans was only mentioned because it is a popular place to staybut people have posted about certain rooms being noisy.If you ever noticed i always reccomend the DR or SL to people.I admit i dont have enough info on other hotels to reccomend them either way.Unlike many

I must be confused, I thought you (specifically) were talking about staying at the DR....I wonder where I got that impression

Anyway, in the same breath you seem to be getting confused in thinking I think itsa shithole of a place to hang out. I'm not suggesting for guys not to go, I go myself. So let's get that clear cause you seem to be arguing the wrong point all of a sudden. I'm sure I will visit it quite a few times on my upcoming trip, but again..I would (never) stay there as a patron of their hotel. To feel staying there puts you as a prime hunter or any position of benefit is faulty thinking. These are just opinions, you really have to give the monger and p4p thing a rest to see it tho..

All ino is if I was a decent looking chica working, I'd be in the DR looking for guys in jean shorts with their shirts tucked in knowing 30 words of spanish to werk over...wouldn't you?

My arguement moreso is the fact of staying there marks you so hard as a monger that you barely have no choice but to get business fugged...

And the argument ( no discussion ) goes on for three pages. Maybe there's more than one hotel Del Rey. And I've been staying at the good one and some of you other guy's been going to the bad one. Or it could just be that it's all in our own perceptions. Whatever the case, whoever you are or even if you have no idea what the hotel Del Rey is you've got to be impressed by all the talk. Not to mention the fact that it must be great for business. Even a happily married fateful straight couple on vacation in Costa Rica would want to go in just for a drink just to see what all the fuss is about.

Now as always I mean no disrespect to anyone. I would defend every one of you the right to express your opinion. Whether I think it's worthwhile or not. I have a two week long stay coming up and I just can't wait to get their.
