If you hate the Del Rey stay away they will not miss your dime and complaints. Also many of the people who say " Do not stay there because of this and that " are only basing what they say on gossip. Thats right they have never spent a night in the place . Uncle H.

Hey - Herman - not everyone who posts talks out of his ass - I've stayed there and don't like the place - like it or not, you can't argue with the fact that you don't get a lot of value for your money; another way to put it is you can stay other places, sometimes for less money, and receive better value - don't turn it into "haters vs non haters" b/c its not the case.

Personally, I've never wanted to be anyone other than who I am, but you go right on believing that those who suggest other places are haters or just want to be like the owners of the HDR. Jesus........

I am not sure who is really hating on the DR. This guy asked for advice and you guys have to turn it into some competition??????? Ridiculous.......... If you need defend the place because you are an avid DR supporter that is fine with me, but try to give some of these other guys some latitude. If you hate to read others opinions then stop reading......Not that tough.... Either that or chill out.......

the DR

Imagine that:

Two people disagreeing over the hotel Del Rey. That's never happened before. 8) What is the world coming to?

Simple response to Hermans post that I thought was waaaay out there :)

Lee, I know you like the place, and you (likely) know that I don't - at least for a place to stay - I've never "called you out" b/c candidly, you made some valid points some time back about the HDR, in one of your posts - I still would not stay there, but really do understand why others might - Hermans post had little to do w/ the place, and more to do w/ those who don't being "haters" and wanting to be like - or just be - the owners - and I responded to what he wrote, which I thought was nonsense  :)

Why complain about a place that has the most pu*sy available of anywhere I have ever witnessed. It can be a task picking out the right chica. That is a fantastic problem . Deciding who the hardcore one's and the really sweet one's . It is a shark tank. I guess it does intimidate some of you guy's. I love it. Note! I do not stay in the hotel, there are better places. Just rattling cages with the intimidation statement. :D :D

The only place I've ever seen with more pu*sy available was Help Disco @ 2am on a Fri. or Sat night!

8 of my 9 trips i have stayed at the DR and loved it.I'm the first to agree that the rooms are not the greatest but they are alright.I have been fortunate to have stayed on the 5th and 6th floor with the 2 exceptions 1 3rd floor and 1 4th floor stay.Quite frankly there was more noise at the dunn inn between the hours if 7am-9am then i ever heard at the DR.Ijust figure the chica fees into my budget and be done with it.I like to go up and down the elevater at all times and the 24hr food/alcahol.
This being said there are some out there that are just haters.Point girls give rushed/poor service bullshit-that can and does happen at the sl and mp's also.It is not just at the DR and many times it is the mongers fault. When this question comes up as it frequently does i always reccomend either DR or SL.The drinks are overpriced this sucks that sucks-solution dont go there.
I'm willing to bet if they gave a crt discount on chica fees +food and beverage many of you haters would suddenly change your mind.
Remember your on vacation dont be afraid to treat your self and spend a little whereever you stay.

I had a friend stay at the Del Rey a few weeks ago for 49 plus tax. I am sure if they are at capacity the rate is a little higher. I agree with the above poster. Idea for Del Rey go up on your rates 15 % and give a 10 % CRT discount . You will get raves and high fives and these guys will think they saved money. I do not stay there any more but I would advise 1st timers or anyone else that it is a 1 of a kind place check in and enjoy. Uncle H.

Mike its prolly time to stop the "everybody" jus hates the DR..

For as much as that place isa shit hole, and an easy place for chicas to pick up mongers (er, not the other way around) you defend it like its the only place you can get laid. We collectively get it, you like to stay at the DR which is fine but the gringo elevator fee's are the least of the worries. For as ok as it is for you to love it, its equally ok most don't.. That jus means more chicas for you

I have never stayed at the DR so not a hater. That being said, I wouldn't stay there if the rooms were 5 star due to the fact its impossible to just have a quiet drink without the sharks swarming. It used to be that they would figure out who wanted company and who didn't, not the case anymore. It wouldn't be so bad but its the same fuglies and fatties that have been there every since my first trip in 2005. Needless to say they have not grown more beautiful with age.

The Del Rey is what it is--the Grand Central Station of hookers in Central America, if not Latin America, essentially a giant whorehouse, a comforting cocoon offering "one stop shopping". As such it holds enormous appeal for newbie and veteran mongers alike, especially those with plenty of money and just want poosie no matter the costs. On my first trips to CR, starting in July '05, I stayed at the HDR. Aside from a one-time road trip to Toronto, I hadn't been outside the USA, and my only P4P experience was with some Nevada brothels. I had learned about CR and the Presidente from someone on another forum, and when I came to CRT I also learned about the SL. In the end though I ended up at the HDR like so many others. In retrospect I should I have stayed at the Presidente (it was still monger-friendly back then), and in fact did so after my first few CR trips.

Now I think of the HDR as a zoo, keeping all the "animals" safely locked up away from me. :P

I stayed at HDR for two nights during my first trip to CR. Even though that was my first (and only) time as a registered guest at the Del Rey, I wouldn't change a thing. It was a short, but very interesting, trip!
