The huge (supposedly largest in Central America) disco located next door to Baldi Hot Springs near Arenal volcano is almost ready after several weeks of remodeling. The man I spoke with this week said they should open in 2 weeks to a month. This will finally give the girls of that area a place to congregate and may open up some mongering opportunities around Arenal. Know the sound system was up to par as I heard it loud and clear as I passed by this past Sunday evening.

I have a buddy who is opening a lodge/cabinas place up by Arenal. If this pans out maybe I can get a CRT discount going. My friend is more than monger friendly. Please keep me updated and maybe we can get something going. I am always interested in getting out of SJO for some fun......

Any updates on the nightclub or cabinas? everywhere i have stayed near arenal actively prohibits guests.

I know things in CR - other than the smoking ban which was instituted with teutonic precision - can move slowly - but the post by PVT - while I'm sure was based on the best info available at the time - was posted a year and 4 months ago - so I suspect nothing happened - maybe permits, maybe whatever - but given the time table - unless it indeed opened and we all just "missed it" - I think it never happened.

I love that little town ,it has a tiny casino with two guys one wears a tuxedo . nobody is there ...lol a p4p would bring lots of people there since the tabacon and arenal is such a draw. Im thinking of driving up this week buts its just too damn long of a ride but its the best zipline money can buy in CR . JG

The zip in La Fortuna is good, but the best for my money is located in Monteverde - which also suffers from the lack of P4P - beautiful place, unique, cloud forest, interesting history (settled by a group of Quakers from Alabama in the early 1950's, of all things ) but unless you are w/ the wife and/or family.......
