Who ever posted this is full of shi_. I just got off the phone with Continental. All fares listed including over the net were $513.00 & up. A far cry from $198.+ tax. In the future either get your facts straight or put your posts up when the sale happens. Other wise your wasting every ones time....

Wow, way to encourage helpful posts, you sir are a true gentleman. Nice 4th post on the board. For the record, not only did I get my facts straight, but I booked the fare for Halloween weekend for $289 all-in after I posted this deal. In fact I just checked it out and it's still available. So if one of us is

You snooze, You lose. Airfares change in a matter of minutes, I don't think Bro Senordos is full of it. :!: :!:

Dude, that was kind of harsh , don't you think ! I just looked at Kayak and there were a lot of fares found for $299 in the last 48 hours ? You posted 8 hours AFTER he did. How do you know the fares were not still there when he posted.

This guy didn't gain one cent for posting this and was only trying to help. Post like the one you posted are why we have 20,000 plus registered users but only a percentage posting.

My vote is that you are were acting like an ass when you posted this and should apologize.

No, he's likely not (FOS) - when sales are posted for the airlines, unlike Sears adverising appliances, or Craftsmen tools, not every seat on every flight, on any day you want to travel during the sale period is at the sale price. Just one of those quirks that make the airlines so annoying :)

So get the facts straight before you blast someone who is posting useful info

While he did come close to triggering one of my pet peeves - just quoting the "airline portion" of the fare - useless w/out the tax and fees added in; I truly could care less what American's take is; I'm much more concerned w/ what my total payment is, 'cause you are not boarding w/out paying the full price - he did post the price is around $300; close enough for government work, to use an old expression

Im coming in next week and all in on Spirit from FLL is $233 (Spirit being Spirit, its going to cost me an additional $40 r/t for baggage).

Avanti - if you call the airline(s) you are unlikely to get the lowest price/best deal; its not the 1950's - we have this thing called the internet now

Its a fact - you need to go on line, and I've found the airlines own website to be the best - but not always (which is why you have 200 different fares on the same flight    ) - so you need to check w/ Expedia, Priceline, Kayak and many more.

Also - and if you read my posts you will see I'm a fairly blunt guy too; also little paticence for fools - you could have expressed yourself a little better and been a little kinder - there are some on CRT that are full of shit - you will see this by perhaps your 10th post   :P :P  - but not the OP in this thread; keep this in mind when responding to posts.

Decently cheap near-future fares out of BOS but nothing yet for late January, which is when I'm planning on going. :(

FROM CHICAGO, the fares are mon to thur travel on continental. I was checking more, American has not matched. But, Delta has. Delta had a $292 (total with taxes) from chicago 10/12 to 10/19 (wed to wed). Do not know how long Delta has it for. Continental had it until 11/15.

Avanti, Senor Senordos knows his stuff. You should retract your statement. Better yet, change it from "full of shi_" to "you da shit".

CJ, most likely bcs AA hasn't matched, your fares didn't change. I called AA and they said there is nothing in the system to match. This could change.

Thanks Senordos

Dean
back to booking flights :D
