As a side note, I was introduced to CRT while sitting in the lobby bar of the DR writing a 74 page feasibility study. My first trip was a 17 day consulting project. Hank Daman (Psychman) was sitting at the next table and asked me if I was CRT. I had no idea what that was. He showed me the website and inadvertently changed the course of my life.

I was sitting at the Blue Marlin Bar on my second visit and a guy about 50 with medium length gray/white hair asked me if I knew about CRT ? He wrote, "costaricaticas", on a coaster and gave it to me. I still have the coaster .

I would be curious if any one reading was the guy that gave me that coaster ?

He didn't write his phone number but you saved the coaster, how romantic you must be heartbroken :D

I found this site while checking out the old CRS site. Someone had posted a link to the new CRT site. I clicked on the link and signed up. About 2 months later I met several CRT members at the 2003 Halloween Bash. Many of whom I am still friends with to this day.

This site is a priceless resource . Thanks and keep up the good work. My trips to Central and South America have had a positive effect on my life. Ive quit drinking and smoking, lost 30 pounds, got back into shape.I guess they give me inspiration and a glimer of hope. Ive always suffered seasonal depression and have found it almost unbearable during some winters. I usually plan my trip and the beginning of winter and the memories of those trips give me momentum to carry me through. Sincerely, Marty
