Hi all, been to cr many times before 06. Back when new life and zona blue were charging 60/per massage and DR and SL ticas were asking Cien.

I have heard that the situation has improved b/c of the recession, dollar strengthened, and most of the chica's prices were cut in half due to lack of customers.

So I'm planning a trip for Sept and was wondering if someone can give me some cost information on what I can expect? If I stay in one of the room at Hotel Little Havana can I still pay the flat 25/fee for massages?

Where does the DR and SL ticas start bargaining from, cien or fifty? Where can you expect to close the deal in general. Would you say that there's still alot of gringos in San Jose area? Also I see dollar/crt rates are back to 1 to 500, so does that mean food and groceries etc will expect to cost the same as it did 5 years ago?

Basically someone give me a quick run down of events since 06, and what I can be expecting now as a vet returning to cr area.. thx!

At HLH, the rate for hotel guests is now $35.

At the HDR and SL, the chicas still start at cien, though more of them do seem to be amendable to taking less, like 60-70, but it's not guaranteed.

I agree with the previous, although they will take $100 if you fail to wipe the drool and uncross your eyes.

Food prices are up dramatically. A chicken (raw) is around c3500.

I've seen really hot chicas going for as little as $50. At first they look at you like you're a cheap bastard and stomp off. But if you're still at the bar at the SL near closing time, they sometimes reconsider. I even saw a guy offer $50 to the same little hottie three times. She finally agreed and then he told her he didn't have a condom, and made her go buy one.

I didn't take anyone out of the DR or KL this trip, but I can tell you that the girls I did pick up at the SL went for $80 and didn't really even think about it. That tells me I didn't start low enough

Chicas cost the same, everything else has doubled. Have fun.

I usually offered $70 (plus a $10 tip) at SL, and most girls readily accepted that without any back-and-forth. Somebody more skilled than I could probably pay less. The few girls who told me what they wanted did start at $100. But, most refused to be the first one to name a price and instead asked me what I was willing to pay. One girl didn't want to talk price beforehand and told me to pay her whatever I thought her service was worth.

The prices at the stores on Central Ave seemed about the same or even more than in the US. For example, milk in what appeared to be a gallon or 4 liter jug was about $4. 15 eggs were about $3. The cheapest toothbrush I saw was $1.60.

I think you all are making this way too hard with all this economic theory.

Do you think the Ticas wake every morning to the "Gringo Report," and then try and figure out the price elasticity with price/quantity and supply/demand graphs and equations coupled with the "strength of the dollar?"

Most of them can't manage what they get - windfall or pittance.

If you just want something wet, by all means low ball. But do know at closing time they are just as anxious to leave as you are for something cheap. The last time I was in CR at SL I arrived at closing time due to a late flight. I want just one girl and these two girls trying to double up with me so they both could make money. When I finally got the one I wanted for the cheap price I wanted, she was jumping out of bed with me still squirting. No exaggeration! Thank God it didn't cost me much.

Oh, the girl I rejected out of the duo offering said I owed her taxi fare for rejecting her. I told her I would give it to her "tomorrow."

If you are going to pay Cien, do it early in the evening so you can insist on quality, time and service. You're going to get crappy everything late in the evening so pay crappy prices.

That's your theory based on one lousy experience? It may relate to closing time at SL but other places are open later or 24 hrs., you could get your money's worth elsewhere.

Yes, you are right. I was talking about closing at SL. I wasn't talking about on "bad" experience. Shoot, sometimes I am glad they leave in a hurry. I have got many closing discounts for workout before bed.

I am going to start asking them how much for 30 minutes ..lol or how about 20 minutes? I don't need an hour.

I suggest talking and establishing a short 15 minute friendship before pulling the trigger. These girls will get as much money as you are willing to pay. I have been asked for a cien once. I have paid cien once for two leches with a girl I would graded her a ten , if only she had not had fake boobs. She was a knockout. My friend who lives in Costa Rica agreed she was the best looking girl he had ever witnessed being in the Del Rey. She was from Venezuela. $60 with a propina or taxi fair is reasonable.
